We are projected to have the Padz Arena in Wilsonville, Oregon ready for the fresh FBA season. Work already was started back in January, though we will be hosted in Oregon State Predator University in Corvallis and Avian University of Oregon in Eugene for the preseason.
We now go live to the Padz campus in Beaverton, Oregon where December O'Reilly and the Cascadia Ownership Group are set up behind a podium that has been covered up.
The news is getting close, we can confirm that the rumors that we are relocating to the West Coast is correct, and we will narrow it down as the Finals keep going.
Creature Report reports-
Though information about where the Lone Stars future is headed, sources have managed this sketch. Speculation abounds, though there's no location attached.
It's a heavy heart that we say goodbye to the Austin Arena. We would have liked to go out with a win, but stick around for the jersey auction and celebration! As promised, we will let you know more about our future after the playoffs.
Join us on Saturday April 30 for our farewell game to Austin Arena. We will have a ceremony reflecting our favorite moments and top Stars over the last decade!
From the Desk of December O'Reilly-
I would like to confirm that the discussions that have been reported are in fact correct. However, in accordance to FBA rules, we will not be announcing a final decision until after the end of the Playoffs so as not to be a distraction.
From KOIN-
With the Lone Stars on a road trip in Hawai'i and Seattle this week, there are reports that Lone Stars representatives have been seen talking to city governments along the I-5 corridor. With much of the ownership from the Silicon Forest, could this be a portent?
From KVUE-
With the rejection by the Austin City Council, the Lone Stars are already compiling a list of alternative cities. And in a sign that the city is moving on, it is already announcing that it is accepting bids to renovate the arena.
From December O'Reilly:
It has been such a joy seeing the ourpouring of fan support filling the Arena. We have four home games left, we still need to show the Austin Council that the Lone Stars matter.
"It behooves us to make sure that Austin is able to provide as much as it can for its citizens, and if a sports team owned by billionaires from outside of Texas cannot be a part of that, then that's on them."
The council did not open the press conference up for questions. 3/3
From KVUE-
At a press conference today given by the Austin City Council, the Council had this to say-
"The Lone Stars are a valued member of the Austin community, but their revenue is nowhere the rosy picture that they seem to be talking about. Austin cannot keep throwing 1/
"money at a luxury like a sports team without seeing some benefit from the deal. With the low amount that the Lone Stars already pay, the 40 days that the Stars occupy the Arena could easily be made up with other events that pay higher rates. 2/
