Voting on pay for 2026 will begin on 15 June.
After months of intensive negotiations with the FBU, the national employers have made the following offer:
🟥 3.8% increase in pay
🟥 Including 3.8% increase to 'Continual Professional Development' payments
Firefighters and the public are being put at risk.
Austerity has gutted Scotland's fire service, and it's the same story across the UK. Whoever leads next must commit to more firefighters on the front line and real investment in public services.

Firefighters Jennie Logan, 30, and Martyn Sadler, 38, tragically lost their lives in a fire at the Bicester Motion site one year ago today. Both were FBU members based at Bicester fire station in Oxfordshire.
Our thoughts are with the families and friends of Jennie and Martyn today. #WeRemember
The General Secretary was live on Channel 4 News tonight, speaking about what we need from a Labour leader - proper funding for the fire and rescue service and a Labour government that truly represents workers, including firefighters.
As an affiliated union, we have a voice, we have a say, and we will continue making the case for policies that benefit working people and the communities we serve.
Solidarity with everyone who took part in the minute's silence for Firefighters Memorial Day.
We will never forget the bravery and sacrifice of over 2,300 firefighters who have died in the line of duty.

@MattRodda is absolutely right.
The cuts proposed in Oxfordshire, defeated by @fbunational members would have had serious knock-on effects for neighbouring services.
Fire services need investment now.
Our members will fight any cut, anywhere.
Dorset and Wiltshire FRS is planning to close eight on-call fire stations, and axe at least 96 firefighter posts.
FBU officials and members attended parliament yesterday to call on politicians to put an end to these dangerous cuts.
These cuts will put lives at risk. #CutsKill
Today marks a significant step forward.
Health Secretary Wes Streeting has committed to introducing proper, consistent health monitoring for firefighters, including cancer screening.
As Firefighters we face serious risks to protect the public, yet too many become ill because of the job. Regular health checks and early cancer screening can genuinely save lives.
This is an important step and will save lives.

"Whilst we welcome the proposals, now not to push ahead with dangerous cuts - we need to make sure there is a joint effort to get funding back into Oxfordshire FRS"
A significant win for Oxfordshire FBU members after months of determined campaigning against dangerous cuts.
Firefighters’ duty is to protect the public & that is exactly what we have done.
When we stand together and fight back, we win ✊🚒
🚨 BREAKING: FBU WIN in Oxfordshire
FBU members have been campaigning for months against dangerous proposals for cuts by Oxfordshire County Council.
Firefighters' duty is to protect the public – and that is exactly what members have done.
When FBU members fight back, we win.
@AnnelieseDodds is right.
Start listening to @Oxfordshire_FBU firefighters.
94% have voted to take industrial action inc Strike action to protect themselves and the public.
@OxfordshireCC listen 👂!
Stop the cuts.
#CutsKill
Oxfordshire County Council has a choice: Scrap the public consultation on cuts or face industrial escalation.
These plans to cut crews, stations and fire engines are not the answer. Oxfordshire CFO must sit down with the FBU to find a proper solution. @Oxfordshire_FBU
Oxfordshire firefighters stand ready to take the next steps to defend their safety and importantly public safety.
Next steps are being planned.
The ball is still in @OxfordshireCC court.
Stop the cuts, protect firefighters and the public.
#CutsKill
4/4 ⚠️
Our position is clear:
@OxfordshireCC must drop these proposals, including station closures, job cuts, reduction of fire appliances, and removal of the rescue tender.
We are ready to meet to discuss fire cover plans that do NOT compromise firefighter or public safety.
