Good people! I'm walking in the @OvernightWalk to raise awareness about suicide. Like many, it has directly impacted my life. Trying to raise $1000 to benefit @afspnational. Any donations big or small would be amazing! Thank you!

DC's citizens are 2nd class Americans.
DC doesn't have a vote in Congress, but Congress & the WH can veto laws passed by our elected local representatives.
Statehood would reverse this. ^^
RT & follow if you agree?
(psst - we have 258 followers and want 300 by Weds...)
@POTUS that is great. Now is just ol' anybody allowed to cross that threshold into the land of voting and possibilty? Asking for 699, 999 friends of mine here in DC.

The right to vote is the threshold of democracy and liberty.
With it, anything is possible. Without it, nothing is.
We’ve got to stay vigilant as this fundamental right remains under assault.
@POTUS Just not for the people of the District of the Columbia. I mean we voted for our leaders, the DC Council voted on updating the criminal code. Heck they voted twice. But none of that mattered.
Voting can be an act of hope but it is first and foremost a right.
Today's routine
Step 1: woke up to the ever judgmental eyes of my dog
Step 2: wrote to @POTUS to explain why not supporting #DCStatehood isn't, you know, the best
Step 3: tea
DC Mayor Murial Bower told DC Democratic officials tonight she politically objects to congress and President interfering with the city’s controversial crime bill, but understand why. She said DC Council passed “a bad bill…and I don’t live in La La Land.” @politicshour@wcp
