A few really exciting days for Year 5. From practicing CPR and putting someone into the recovery position to creating a heliocentric model of the universe to finally building tension in writing by using a flashback opening.
We began to use protractors to measure angles today. Tomorrow, will mean applying this to challenges. Year 5 ended the day, experimenting the size of the sun, moon and earth (using size perspective).
It was extremely helpful for Year 5 to have Miss Lake share with the children some ideas on how to manage our mental health.

It was great for Year 5 to fully understand what a Conscientious objector was during the war and whether the choice they made was the right one. I look forward to seeing their writing based on the reasons they have given.
In the last few science lessons in Year 5, we have been investigating how plants reproduce. We aimed to understand each part and being able to locate them. Concluding this lesson, we had a go at cloning our own plant. I look forward to seeing it grow.
It was great to start this half term by welcoming the little visitors to our classes. Year 5 researched and created some lovely habitats for the crickets.
What a joy this afternoon was! It was so nice to welcome parents into Year 5βs showcase and share all the amazing work they have done this half term! Well done Year 5!
