$HIVE buying its 32 MW data center in Sweden is a bigger deal than it looks.

Instead of renting the facility, HIVE now owns it outright, giving the company full control over future AI and HPC expansion while eliminating reliance on a landlord.

To me, this reinforces HIVE’s transition from a Bitcoin miner into a long-term AI infrastructure company. The site has been operating since 2018, so this isn’t a risky new project—it’s a proven asset that HIVE is making permanent.

The company has already invested over $100 million in the region and paid more than $60 million in taxes, showing a deep commitment to Sweden and its renewable energy ecosystem.

Not an overnight game-changer, but another solid step that strengthens HIVE’s AI story and long-term asset value.
