If the roles were reversed and a man was beating his girlfriend, social media would be in flames right now. But because the victim is a man, many are silent.
Abuse has no gender every victim deserves to be heard, protected, and taken seriously. Where's the same outrage for men facing domestic violence?
@Verydakman_ See me see break up
The man is shame to the Manhood while the girl is lack of home training
No matter my daughter have power fight she'll never ever beat her husband, I'll personally pack her out from that marriage
These are the views and concerns publicly expressed by VeryDarkMan (VDM), reflecting what many Nigerians have long been asking.
For years, Nigerians have prayed, endured hardship, and wondered why insecurity persists despite massive security spending.
According to VDM, the real obstacles are corruption, compromised institutions, and a lack of accountability. He argues that defeating terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping requires transparency, courage, and putting the nation's interest above politics.
These are his opinions, shared as part of the ongoing public conversation about security and lasting peace in Nigeria.
Presidential Council Scandal: "If I'm wrong, let the court of law decide that. If I'm right, let the court of law do the right thing."
Adeyemi says he is prepared to defend himself in court over the ongoing Presidential Council controversy, insisting he is ready to face the legal process.
CHECK YOUR BANK ON THIS LIST OF CBN REVOKED LICENSES
The Central Bank of Nigeria has revoked the operating licences of 46 microfinance banks with effect from July 1, 2026.
According to the CBN, the action follows the banks' failure to meet regulatory requirements under the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act.
The affected institutions were found to have insufficient assets to meet liabilities, closed operations without approval, remained inactive, failed to commence operations within the required timeframe, or were unable to maintain minimum capital requirements.
The apex bank says the move is aimed at safeguarding the stability of the financial sector, protecting depositors, and strengthening confidence in Nigeria's banking system.
History often celebrates the man at the top, but rarely those who stood beside him when the nation faced defining moments.
At 84, General Abdulsalami Abubakar used the launch of his autobiography, Call of Duty, to reflect on Nigeria's transition from military rule to democracy in 1998β1999. He reminded Nigerians that no leader makes history aloneβbehind every major decision are trusted allies, advisers, family, and friends who share the weight of leadership.
Love or criticize that era, one fact remains: history is never written by one person alone.
Which of these figures do you remember most, and what role do you think they played in shaping Nigeria's history?
