Since 1913, we have been an industry leader in high quality copper-based alloys. Today, we are still growing and innovating and working as hard as ever.
Throwback Thursday, #copper industry edition!
In the early 1900s, Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula was the heart of Copper Country. In this image, copper ingots are being loaded onto a steamer in Houghton, Michigan. (Credit: Detroit Publishing Co. / Library of Congress)
Our professionals in the Major League of Ingot Making deserved a new locker room befitting of their talents. We were happy to oblige! Thanks to all our amazing crew for sticking it out til this was finished.
“We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now.”
From a local church in Atlanta to a globally inspiring leader of civil rights, Dr. Martin Luther King was truly a hero for all.

I dare you to walk into @Outback Steakhouse and get a piece of meat that is unevenly cooked. It’s impossible. How so? Because our friends at Tampa Brass and Aluminum make the steak weights that every location uses to ensure consistent #grill contact!
As the world transitions to #RenewableEnergy, #copper emerges as the essential #metal driving the shift! From EV batteries to solar panels and wind turbines, copper demand is set to double by 2030. But you already knew that.

It's Monday! Meet Kyle.
#Leadership looks like a lot of things. At our North Little Rock facility, it looks like this guy. Whether at home, in his community of Hot Springs, or at the plant, Kyle walks the walk. We could not be more proud that he serves as FedMet General Manager!
PSA® is a high-purity, direct-melt 1100 #aluminum generated from post-consumer HVAC-R scrap. We customize solutions for #RollingMills that commonly melt prime and RSI, but want to increase their #recycled content and lower their metal costs without sacrificing chemistry or yield.
Here’s an obscure #copper fact—Copper is essential to hemocyanin, a molecule like hemoglobin, giving blue blood to invertebrates like lobsters and octopuses. Unlike hemoglobin, which uses iron to bind oxygen, hemocyanin uses copper and works best in cold, low-oxygen environments.
There is a secret in St. John’s Church in Ellicottville, NY. Gabriel, a #bronze bell, was cast in Malaga, Spain in 1705. After tolling for a century in a monastery, it came to Ellicottville in 1838 via two oxen and a wagon, and is the oldest working bell in NY, if not the US!
It's Monday! Meet Rich.
It’s not everyday you get the opportunity to bring a seasoned CFO and tank commander onto your team. But when that opportunity comes, you take it. (It doesn’t hurt that his daughter is a baker and he has every bourbon known to man in his basement!)
New year, new opportunity? With 115 years of excellence in pouring #brass and #bronze, we’re #hiring hardworking people ready to be part of our foundry’s proud legacy. Your future in #manufacturing starts here!
As 2024 comes to a close this evening, we want to express our sincere appreciation for your support during another great year for Federal Metal and FedMet. Wishing you a safe and enjoyable New Year's Eve with those who matter most!
It's Monday! Meet Natalie.
You get one chance to make a first impression, and we kinda stacked the deck in our favor with Natalie. She manages all our incoming communications and visitors (and even helps with accounts payable) so we're certain everyone will feel very welcomed!
Always something really interesting to see around here. #prettycool
Have a happy and wonderful holiday weekend—our best to all of you and your families everywhere!
