A Developer. C++ mostly, everything else from time to time. Principal Architect and full stack/e2e entusiast. Love software development, testing, automating
@haftagud @max_katz Правильная фраза должна быть ‘детей воспитывали неграмотные и бесправные женщины’. Это и был идеальный источник ‘легкоуправляемых дебилов’. Управлять образованными людьми чуток сложнее
@maaretp It has no meaning as a metric, same as amount of commits done by a developer. The only time it has a lot of meaning is when number is close to 0
@maaretp And my main point is that code by itself has no value. Information it carries has the value. But code can always be rewritten with no consequences (in ideal world).
@maaretp Rewriting is cheating, right. Documentation is probably still there - you can read test and figure out what it is doing. But if it was written 1-2 years ago, many things may have changed, new wrappers appeared, new product features etc and rewriting is easier than fixing
@michaelbolton What is ‘fast release’? Fixation on faster releases is great when you release once a year and improve to release once a month or week or day.
But yes, if fixation stays and you continue to ‘improve’ and go faster release -you produce no additional value but get additinal problems
@maaretp @mpkhosla Fix and forget is sooooo underestimated technique. At work and in real life. I’ve seen so many people who postpone instead of fixing/doing right now and they are all unhappy and burried with ‘I have too many things to do’
