JUST RELEASED: "2021 LYRASIS Open Source Software Report: Understanding the Landscape of Open Source Software Support in American #Libraries" https://t.co/5Vt7ksac58 #oss@LYRASIS@ARLnews
@CLIRDLF Thank you so much for hosting and having us on! I would love to continue any of these conversations if people are interested. Please follow us at @FedoraProgram!
@hillaryAHR@CLIRDLF 100% agree. We are a back-end repository management software - IG/FB won't serve us the same as something like a front-end software or even an entire institution. #DLFTeach
@hillaryAHR@CLIRDLF I mean yes, lets get back to in-person meetings again so we can chat it out over a solid donut and coffee! Raised vs. cake donuts is always a good icebreaker... #DLFTeach
@CLIRDLF Q5: Speaking from the engagement side of things, I believe that informative, relevant content that is less technical in nature reminds us all that we are more than our software. #DLFTeach
@hillaryAHR@CLIRDLF This is so true! When trying to establish our communication strategy we actually retied (sidelined?) some low-return channels with the idea that we could re-introduce them if/when there appeared a need. It was a "less is more" approach. #DLFTeach
@hillaryAHR@CLIRDLF Do you think there's a line at which point the effort to spread yourself across so many channels becomes fruitless? Strictly asking out of curiosity... #DLFTeach
@CLIRDLF Q4: We have our best success with our dedicated Slack channels. They're separated by content (Tech, General, etc) which feels less intimidating. Would love to hear your best practices. #DLFTeach@FedoraProgram
@CLIRDLF Would love to hear some insight from outsiders on strategies you've implemented successfully (or not!) to identify new areas/communities who could benefit from your open-source project! #DLFTeach@FedoraProgram
@CLIRDLF Hey everyone! As mentioned, I'm Arran and I'm the program coordinator for an open-source repository system called Fedora @FedoraProgram#DLFTeach
Hi and welcome! We’re about to start today’s #DLFTeach chat on building engagement in open source projects with our co-host and Program Coordinator at Fedora, Arran Griffith, @FedoraProgram.
Join us this Tuesday, August 17th at 7:00 pm CST to participate in our #DLFTeach chat: "Building Stronger Community Engagement for Open-source" with Arran Griffith, Program Coordinator at Fedora, @FedoraProgram
@CLIRDLF Can't wait to see you all there! Open-source projects, like Fedora, thrive because of our vast communities of contributors, users and members! Come join in the conversation on engaging these audiences and how we work to keep our projects community-led.
