As someone pointed out, they didn’t even add Suki to the flashback scene. So it’s like okay, you didn’t have screentime for her in the present, but you couldn’t at least acknowledge her in the past?
Tbh, I don't like the evolving tattoos.
The original explanation is that the tattoos represented the original airbenders (the Air Bison arrow), now I have absolutely no idea what it means.
Lol, I hadn't thought about that narrative flaw regarding the guy fighting for "rights" and "justice" whose leader was part of the Fire Nation's most dangerous and deadly squad during the Hundred Year War.
The writers shouldn’t have nerfed Aang just to hype up Tagah. Instead, they should’ve made a villain weaker than Aang physically but able to defeat him psychologically by exploiting his trauma. That’s how you challenge the “strongest character” trope without messy power scaling.
Somewhere in between ATLA and TLOK, the writers became interested in the idea of Benders vs Non-Benders as a worldbuilding thing to use for conflicts, which isn't inherently a problem until you start applying it to ATLA stuff where that straight up wasn't an element in the show
Bravo les champions ! 👏
This is my personal Avatar conspiracy theory: the two white men who get all the credit for making the Avatar were actually talentless hacks, or just people who might be good at doing very specific things but not the real reason why ATLA is so good 1/4
