Tongue-in-cheek aside. Uber-style rideshare wasn’t just job theft - it filled a volume gap traditional taxis never really covered. The gig model isn’t ideal to me (random drivers, consistency and trust issues). Robotaxi looks like the better answer to that high-volume problem: safer and more reliable than gig driving. Licensed cabs keep what neither gig driving nor a robot replaces well - a regulated professional who can handle bags or even just share insight in a new area.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Seems like a plus to me!

No - we came very close in June but decided to wait. They drive like butter! Ironically, my hubby had security concerns. He's a transportation engineer and ran an audit before we decided. EV charge locations in our area were packed full or were free but in sketchy places at the back of parking lots. There were many in parking garages downtown, but he found drivers seemed to leave their vehicle parked at the charger all day. The Tesla rep shared that more charge locations are in the works, though. I can hardly wait - I'm sick of my sister bragging how hers can smoke my Z4. Sibling rivalry is strong in our fam! 🤣
