Within 48 hours of the launch of Operation KO S’AYE by Lagos and Ogun State Police Command. The operation has recorded a major breakthrough.
Operatives combing the forest boundaries between Lagos and Ogun States along J3/ J4 axis of Ogbere in Ogun State, successfully rescued five (5) kidnapped victims and neutralised four (4) suspected kidnappers, arrested 4 kidnapping suspects and 84 other suspects, recovered arms ammunition and other exhibits.
The Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in ensuring there is no hiding place for criminals, especially kidnappers, through intelligence-led operations and sustained security efforts.
Ko S’aye fun iwa odaran.
No Place for criminalities.
The forests are no longer safe havens for criminals.

Congratulations to England for the victory over Croatia last night, but @Nigel_Farage and the other racists want all of us, including these guys, out. With them out, it would have been a draw against Croatia. The racists can’t think😂

Attending OAU Ile-Ife in the 00s brought me into proximity with Yoruba Nollywood stars. You could saunter into CC and find Peter Fatomilola mulling over a beer. Or Tunde Ojeyemi walking out of the staff club. Or the pleasant-mannered Kola Oyewo near Pit Theatre. Really sad to hear of his passing. Incredible actor. He gave the performance of his lifetime as the incorruptible civil servant, Mr Mako, in Koseegbe. His next best, imo, is as the corrupt king Lapite in Saworoide, also a Tunde Kelani film. These two films are serious political satires of post-colonial societies in Nigeria. Oyewo acted as both a conflicted hero in Koseegbe and a venal royalty in Saworoide, showing incredible range. May his soul rest in peace.
Why isn't Nigeria rich?Bad government? Corruption?
Or is there a more uncomfortable explanation: the way we think about money itself?
In my new article, I explore why some societies turn money into capital, while others struggle .

Nobody told me this before I started working in a UK public institution.
I expected the adjustment to be about the data systems or the tools.
It was neither.
The adjustment was cultural, and it took longer to see clearly than I expected.
In the private sector I came from, speed was the signal of competence.
Move fast. Ship something. See if it works. Iterate.
A quick answer given confidently was valued over a slow answer given carefully.
In a large public institution, the culture operates differently.
Decisions involve more stakeholders. Sign-off processes exist for reasons that are not always visible from your level.
The work has to be defensible. not just accurate, but auditable and explainable in ways commercial work does not require.
The first time I pushed for a fast decision and was told the process needed to run its course, my instinct was frustration.
What I eventually understood: the reason for the pace is the nature of the accountability.
When your analysis informs public services or national statistics, the standard for “good enough” is different from commercial work. And it should be.
The shift for me was learning to find the rigour satisfying rather than restricting.
If you are coming from private sector analytics into a UK public institution. NHS, Civil Service, a UK government statistics body, UKHSA. this is the mindset shift that matters most.
The relationship with pace, process, and accountability.
It is not a lesser environment.
It is a different standard.
And once you understand what it is operating at, it is one of the most professionally serious places you can work.
One of my favorite companies in the world is a $12bn firm called bending spoons. They buy and scale tech companies.
One of their golden rules is NOT to employ "experienced operators". It's mostly run by new graduates.
Today was tough, but we'll delight in the memories of our dear Temisan Okomi, an absolutely incredible human who lived such a full life, accommodating and touching everyone in his path.
