@vivienvegana They're still doing better in their animal welfare legislation than Islamic places like Iran and Azerbaijan. The rest of East and South-East Asia also lack a lot of laws in this aspect which is pretty sad to see. Japan for example is not doing much better. https://t.co/B1Ss1YrOje
@upliftvegans True true, the art of being a vegan shows a supreme ability to control one's will and overcome both social pressure and craving. The ideal masculinity is an ascetic ability to overcome all and not back down.
@yetoshi24 Oh no. It's haram. You're not supposed to be drawing / creating living beings. Especially in a religious context. Allah will become jelly because only he can create life.
@TudigongS9791 Ok, I don't think the hammer of atheism fits this context. Firstly, atheism doesn't negate the supernatural. And Secondly, Buddhist devas are not comparable to Abrahamic gods. They don't even interact with humans, they just vibe in their own world and follow the laws of samsara.
@kiskebaka Ok so we got a temple that scams religious people off of their money and another temple that wants to marry monks. I'd need an explanation to where and when the Japanese turned Buddhism into its antithesis.
@MagneticNorse Dude they're thirsty. If one is thirsty, one ought to drink. If you don't drink you die. Certainly you wouldn't want to murder a datacenter.
@BallSniff777 Yeah just a reminder there that internal wars have been waaayyyy more common than external wars in the last century. The existence of a USSR, especially if nationalism still existed, which it sure does, would just cause it to explode sooner or later into conflict anyway.
@MarcyBelowFloor Going with yes because there are plenty of vicious things that don't seem to "cause tangible harm" in short term, but add up to build your character to a vicious direction long term. You might think flattering lies could only be positive short term, until lying becomes a habit.
@archi_tradition Tuscany. Yeah going with Tuscany today. The vibe is too strong and the places too legendary. Firenze, Lucca, Pisa and all the rest scream with every second of experiencing them how much they truly are masterpieces of art, science, history and aesthetics.
