If @ukhomeoffice sends him back to #HongKong, they will send a political prisoner back into the hands of the officials that jailed him for supporting democracy.

This is good news

But he should never have been detained or threatened with deportation in the first place.

Furthermore, his BNO status to remain in the UK must be expedited and he should be given assurances that he is welcome to remain in the UK.

Plus @ShabanaMahmood @JoWhiteSays must launch an immediate investigation into how this happened and ensure that @ukhomeoffice gives clear instructions to Border Force about the legitimacy of Hong Kong BNOs to make sure this shameful stupidity doesn’t happen again

Another #HK47 #PoliticalPrisoner has been released: Wu Chi-wai arrived home at 6:13 am on Tuesday after serving his full sentence of 4 years & 5 months.
Now 20 of the 45 who were convicted have been released.

Timed to the release of our new report, @Telegraph journalist @SabriSun_Miller went to Kyiv and spoke with Ukrainians directly affected by missile strikes. She also spoke to British-Singaporean @xppower, whose chips were found in similar missles. XP claims, without evidence, that the parts must be “counterfeit” or obtained before the war, a claim that does not fit the available evidence, and is one of the worst manufacturer responses I’ve seen in three years of tracking these illicit shipments.

Surprise surprise. The Hong Kong police is now treating the mass self-mobilisation of citizen-led volunteers in aid of victims of the Tai Po fires as a national security threat, with Chief superintendent Lee Kwai-wah (who is sanctioned by the US for his leading role in Beijing’s crackdown on dissent in HK) from the National Security Division inspecting relief operations sites for “evidence” of national security crimes.
