So this young woman developed a painful, swollen right arm after three weeks of gym workouts. The video is a venogram—an X-ray like imaging of her veins after injecting a dye. It clearly shows a blood clot (indicated as a filling defect of dye) blocking the main vein under her right collarbone.

This is Paget-Schroetter syndrome, also called effort thrombosis. Heavy, repeated arm movements squeeze the vein between the collarbone and first rib. The constant pressure injures the vein wall, so blood clots form inside. Doctors treat it with blood thinners, clot-dissolving drugs and surgery if needed.

I never knew until today what David meant in Psalm 23 when he said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.” Nowhere does it say he stopped to wonder why he was in the valley. It simply says he walked through. Let me tell you this: now is not the time to figure out why you’re going through the valley. Just trust God and keep walking.
