I wrote the post below because many people have worked very hard to stay away from self destructive and dangerous lifestyles. I personally admire the folks who've made the choice to remain clean and sober despite the challenges they've faced. Most of us have experienced temptation, depression, loss of loved ones, injuries, work demands, and peer pressure. We've all faced cascading consequences that have shoved us down paths and made us face decisions we never prepared ourselves for.

Unfortunately, at some point in life, some folks surrendered their will or their reason and became yet another victim to the monsters that prey on folks who've found themselves at those crossroads in life.

Seeing the responses here of folks congratulating me for my life of sobriety is humbling. Many of you know that I was sexually abused, beaten and humiliated for much of my childhood, I found myself at those crossroads many times where escaping through drugs was an option. I'm also overwhelmed by the number of folks who shared stories and victory's, successes in their battles to build and maintain their sobriety. It's no small feat to face ones inner demons, and to become steeled in ones resolve. One poor decision, one self destructive choice would've pulled me right into the mix. I'd have joined the millions of others who've become a statistic in today's world. I could've taken my own life, taken someone else's, or turned to a lifestyle of dependency and risk. But I didn't.

Why?

Because I had a still small voice whispering in my ear telling me not to give in, not to give up, not to go down that road. There were people praying for me! I turned my life to Christ and He filled my emptiness with grace and love. He took my depression and gave me peace. He took my fear and gave me joy. He took my pain and healed my heart. Turns out I didn't need a way out because I gave Him a way in.

If you've found yourselves at a crossroads, if you feel like your back is against the wall, if you're about to surrender your will and your reason, DON'T. There's one more option available to you. Turn to God, lay it all down at the foot of the cross, and invite Jesus into your mess. He's the perfect gentleman and He'll never force His way in. But He's standing at your heart's door and He's knocking. It's a life changing decision when you surrender to Christ and ask Him for help.

If you've gone down a path of self destruction, if you've given in and made decisions that have left you addicted or strung out, it's not to late! Jesus is still waiting at your heart's door, He'll meet you right where you've ran to. There's healing power in Christ and He's able to turn you back from whatever crossroads you've faced. He will faithfully hear your prayer and He will help you make your way to clean and sober living.

So many folks have been changed by the decision to have faith in God. Life doesn't necessarily stop being difficult, but once you put your faith in Jesus Christ, you'll never face another challenge in life by yourself and you'll never again have to face it in your own strength. Jesus will be right there with you, giving you courage and resolve to make it through.

At the end of the day there's one lesson I've learned that triumphs over nearly all the other lessons I've learned along the way. Helping or serving someone else takes your mind off of yourself. When you're giving time to someone that needs you, there's less time to focus on yourself and your despair. Being a friend and being there for someone else is a tried and true method of overcoming our own battles of life. When you turn to Christ, ask Him to open doors and to lead you to someone that you can needs you. Ask Him to give you the heart and the desire to care about others and you will find true satisfaction in life.

🔴 In conclusion, it is clear from the writings of several of our earliest presidents, as well as the texts of the nation's founding documents, that American principles are not in line with some "radical" or "extreme" version of Islam. The main doctrine of shariah constitutes DANGEROUS threat to the U.S. Constitution and the freedoms it enshrines. That incompatibility has several practical implications:

🔴 For one thing, the shariah legal code cannot be insinuated into America, even through stealthy means or any processes without violating the U.S. Constitution's Article VI Supremacy Clause, which requires that the Constitution "shall be the supreme Law of the land."

🔴 Even more reprehensible is the willingness of some among America's elites, and it would appear even a subset of its elected leaders, to accede to these groups' increasingly insistent contention that shariah is compatible with the U.S. Constitution.

🚨In fact, based on shariah's tenets, its core attributes and especially its intolerance of other faiths and disfavored populations and its bid for supremacy over all other legal or political systems, there can be NO confusion on this score:

🚨As the Framers fully understood, shariah is an ENEMY of the United States Constitution.

Our American Founders and Islam.
🔴 America's earliest presidents best understood these founding principles. They were not only deeply involved with their formal adoption, but they were professionally competent in explaining them. When confronted with an Islamic threat, they took the effort to consult primary sources and to conduct competent analysis of that threat.
In 1786, Thomas Jefferson, ambassador to France, and John Adams, ambassador to England, met with the emissary of the Islamic potentates of Tripoli to Britain, Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja, regarding the demands for tribute being made at the time by the so-called Barbary Pirates.
Afterwards, Jefferson and Adams sent a four-page report to the Congress describing this meeting. The relevant portion of their report reads:

🔴 Its ambitions transcend what American law recognizes as the sacrosanct realm of private conscience and belief.
It seeks to supplant our
