Freelance writer. Former librarian. Blogging about neurodivergent representation and my experiences w/ tic disorder, ADHD, and obsessive-compulsive anxiety.
So I'm 3500 visits to the blog away from qualifying for an ad network I've had on my goal list all year. Ad money= more time = more content. I'm not saying go visit https://t.co/SgSM5sw3Wh and tell a friend . . . but if you were gonna tell anyway, this would be a good time. LOL
@daniel_levity @EmilyJamesDW@edstourettes@AMCTheatres@RegalMovies Some motor tics can still be disruptive in a theater. I stomp my feet and punch/slap my thighs. These tics are loud and usually occur in sets of 2 or more. Even my silent tics can make me avoid theaters bc they can be distracting, especially when they're frequent and repetitive.
Hello world, ADHD is SO much more than just about attention.
(As always, not having all signs doesn’t mean you don’t have ADHD. Self talk doesn’t mean that constant stream of thoughts! Dr. Barkley explains it well) #comics#art#mentalhealth
@blkgirllostkeys I've got a variation of the Tourette syndrome clinical triad, so I have
-provisional (motor) tic disorder
-ADHD
-obsessive compulsive anxiety.
Since I can't dance, sing or act, I like to think of myself as a neurodivergent triple threat :)
@blkgirllostkeys I totally do! I actually wrote a blog post about it a while back.

I love cooking and baking, but it's a real challenge and I eat out way more than I should.
My intense emotions make it hard to be myself around others. Emotional Dysregulation is a MASSIVE and underrated topic in ADHD.

All my #goals right now feel like competitive runners pushing and shoving to be first to the finish line, only for all of them to trip over each other and land in a tangled mess three feet from the starting point.

Looking back on my posts, I started to wonder how my #neurodivergence has affected the people around me.
I’ve decided to ask, starting with the most important person in my life. Here’s what he had to say.

It also taught me that I don't need to be afraid of the label and that I don't have to qualify to be disabled. #disabledcompliments & #WhenICallMyselfDisabled were big turning points in my life.

Online disability representation has been huge for me. It's how I found #neurodiversesquad and learned that my experiences were way more common than I knew.
The hashtag is called #DisabilitySwipesRight and it’s about disabled people choosing each other and creating the representation we need to see.
How has online disability representation mattered to you?
Why I didn’t get diagnosed until 28 and was told I’m “too quiet” to have ADHD✌️
(Alternative title: How instead of getting ADHD treatment I developed Anxiety to cope)
