I sometimes see things that strike me and that I want to share, but have nowhere to put.
So this thread will be an eclectic mix of photos of things I encounter (never manipulate).
* People ask LLMs to write code
* LLMs recommend imports that don't actually exist
* Attackers work out what these imports' names are, and create & upload them with malicious payloads
* People using LLM-written code then auto-add malware themselves

And that's a wrap for the @CrederaUK team at #Endure24! 30 laps completed against our target of 25 - 150 miles / 240 km between 7 of us over 24 hours.
£615 raised so far for @PrideInSurrey - it's not too late to donate!

We've hit our 200km target with four hours to spare! There's some enthusiasm for extra laps in the team so we are pushing onwards!

The self storage that Pride in Surrey use for all of our event and outreach stuff burned down Friday night, so we are emergency fundraising to replace it urgently as we go into Pride season. Would really appreciate it if people could boost this.
We aim to raise funds to immediately restart our outreach work for Pride Month. It’s will cost much more than £1,000, but it will be a start. We have lots planned for #PrideMonth and every penny will help. Thank you 🙏

Highlights:
With NHS waiting lists spanning years and costs of private care being in the five digits if you want any surgeries, it's disappointingly American that trans people in the UK may rely on their employer for transition care. But that's where we are, so this is a great initiative.
We're proud to announce the launch of our website! Trans Employers lists UK companies that offer gender dysphoria medical cover as part of their medical packages

Nothing in a datacenter exists because the alternative was death.
It is there because it met acceptability. It is resilient for commercial purposes, not existential.
Resilient complex IT infrastructure is not a solved problem. Trust me there are some smart mf trying.
One of our incredible directors, Kim, has been shortlisted for Diversity Ally of the Year at the 2023 Digital Revolution Awards.

So I'm done spoon feeding adults on why it's important to see trans people and recognise that we are humans with full lives.
It's time to challenge them.
You know we are here. You see what is happening. Now we need actions. What are you going to do to help us?
#TDOV
I've been asked to do several positive videos / messages about why visibility is important for #TDOV this year, and I haven't done any of them because I'm feeling super jaded about it right now and I don't think I could keep it polite and corporate friendly.
In past years I've been keen to highlight trans success stories on #TDOV and while my heart sings every time I see Elliot Page or when Sam Smith and Kim Petras get a number one song, these are hardly secret stories that need highlighting. Again - visibility is not our problem.
