Voice actors, based on some of the casting calls I have been seeing lately, I would like to share a quick list of green and red flags to help people out.

Red Flags:

🔴A casting director requiring you to join a Discord server just to be considered for a role.

🔴 Vague language around being paid.

🔴Vague language on whether or not you were shortlisted.

Green flags:

🟢 A proper email or submission address that feels professional.

🟢 A Google Doc or brief that clearly explains the project and how to submit.

🟢 Clear audition lines with character backstory, direction, and stated payment or usage.

🟢 A clear audition deadline, plus transparency about whether unsuccessful applicants will hear back.
