There is nothing quite like day one of a YouthBuild mental toughness, our #Thamesmead site in partnership with @PeabodyLDN was a full house - it’s always a day of new beginnings and aspirations for powerful endings! #opportunityyouth#withyouthwelead
If Rishi Sunak wanted to reform our education system, he would give teachers a decent pay rise, end the privatisation of our universities, and create a National Education Service to provide free lifelong learning for all.
You can have a policy on immigration and the means by which it's implemented. Rwanda Plan (though I disagree) is such means. But to call it your "dream" and to so publicly luxuriate at the idea is the kind of malevolence attributed to some of the worst political minds in history.
@HanboMillar @JahnineDavis Yeah, I am familiar with Jahine Davis. Much needed voice on safeguarding with this is mind.
Yes - I'm back from my two breaks, so quite free now. SE indeed.
It always starts with the adultification of black children. How can a grown man presume to handle a young girl like that with impunity? Just as we saw in the UK with Child Q, black children are not afforded their youth or innoncence, which serves as a gateway to their abuse.
GEORGIA: Morgan County school bus driver - James O'Neil - fired and arrested after pushing siblings - 6 and 10-year-olds - for refusing to sit at the back of the bus. Parents say the front of the bus is usually reserved for children this age.

Brilliant day at the @pgim offices with our Youth Partners @YouthBuildVUK participating in employability workshops. It was invaluable for young people to hear the personal journeys of the PGIM team and to feel comfortable and welcomed in these settings. #youthleadership#ybv
Enjoying a well earned break in the beautiful city of Prague.
One of my biggest takeaways: You need just about half of the income you earn in London to enjoy the same lifestyle in Prague - just cleaner and greener. I love London unconditionally but we have so much work to do.
Love this. The power of 'benefit of doubt', especially when working with young people is often disregarded. It may be an inconvenience in that very instance, but you get a semblance of relatability and trust that makes everything after that point easier.
Semester about to begin and my teaching philosophy is:
I’m not a cop. I’m not here to police and punish. This means giving students the benefit of the doubt (even if that can sometimes be abused!). Often students have good but unarticulated reasons for not doing their very best
Racism in Europe is so terrifying. Was chatting to a Nigerian guy living in Germany on the train the other day. He said one day during a storm a tree on his street fell down and blocked the pavement. He decided to pick it up and move it out of the way so people could pass...
‘When I signed up to YouthBuild I realised I signed up to Build a career and Build My character, more importantly it’s helped me realise my own strengths’ I love love YB graduations ♥️ so proud of each graduate! #ybmovement
This morning our youth partners have a Work Readiness day at the @pgim offices in London. At the heart of the #youthbuildmovement is a real respect for our youth partners as well integrated support from industry. Every day at YB brings these two together #opportunityyouth
Once young people come to terms with their collective agency to influence and change the things around them, there will be no ceiling to what they can achieve.
