Stop Fasting.
Abraham and Sarah had the problem of childlessness, they didn't fast before God answered their prayers for fruit of the womb. Same goes for Elizabeth and Zachariah, Hannah, Rebecca, Rachael and the Shunemite woman.
Jabez didn't fast before God answered his prayers. Hezekiah didn't add fasting to his prayers before God answered him. The woman with the issue of blood, the paralytic, the Syrophoenician woman, and the list goes on. I'm trying to see anyone that received special favor from God because they fasted.
When Jesus was asked; "why are we and the disciples of John the Baptist fasting but yours are not"? Read up Jesus's answer and see if it agrees with your mindset about fasting. David fasted for the child he had with Bethsheba to live, God didn't grant that petition.
In all the places Jesus taught about prayers, he never mentioned fasting as an ingredient or requirement for answered prayers. He didn't for once ask his disciples to fast, but he taught them to pray. This is not accidental, it is intentional.
Your petitions and prayers to God for breakthrough, fruit of the womb, job, life partner and any other material favor is not made more powerful or appealing to God by fasting. 50 days fast and prayer for husband? Only a Temu husband can come from such. Don't ask me what a Temu husband is because I don't know either.
The people of Nineveh fasted for God's mercy and as a sign of repentance. They weren't fasting for any material favor.
Our Lord Jesus Christ fasted for 40 days and nights. He wasn't fasting for power or any material needs, he fasted to tame the flesh and overcome the inevitable temptations.
Stop fasting if you are doing it for material needs, especially those of you who are still struggling with poverty. You barely eat enough to survive and you want to fast to thrive, haba na.
Spiritually, fasting is a discipline to control the flesh and put our carnal desires in check. It is not an extra incentive to God to make him answer prayers for material needs. Stop fasting if your reason is so that God will see how hungry and starved you are and give you child or job or financial breakthrough or any of sorts.
Fasting for self discipline and for health benefits should be a weekly routine and ritual for you, not a season of marathon hunger strike for quick answer to your prayers for material favors.
I have seen people go demented and mentally deranged from such marathon fasts, yes. Many more get manipulated by those exercises, but let's leave these dimensions for another day.
I'm waiting for those who will cite the instances of Esther, Daniel and Mk 9:29 .
I dey wait.
Some people that are supposedly educated and possibly insightful thinks #BarackObama told #USAID to fund Bokoharam because a US Senator cultishly beholden #MAGA said so. Everyone has taken leave of their senses.
Don't just go on dates for the fun of it; ask the right questions.
What other questions do you think need to be asked?

Dear Vivek,
Let me get this straight: you’re out here hollering that 70% of federal research grants are going into some “overhead slush fund” for DEI programs? Buddy, either your calculator’s broken, or you’re just making stuff up to rile people up. The actual average? Around 58%, and that’s for all overhead costs, not just your favorite boogeyman, DEI. You know, little things like keeping the lights on, maintaining labs, paying janitors, and making sure those state-of-the-art facilities don’t fall apart.
You’re comparing federal grants to private foundations, saying they only charge 10% overhead like that’s some kind of gotcha. But here’s the thing: private foundations don’t fund the full cost of research. They cherry-pick, leaving Uncle Sam to cover the boring but crucial stuff, utilities, compliance, and infrastructure. It’s like complaining about a restaurant charging for the plate and utensils when your takeout place gives you a paper bag for free.
And let’s not even start with your claim that all this money is going to DEI. Do a little homework. That overhead money isn’t lining the pockets of some mythical "DEI czar", it’s funding the backbone of research: labs, computers, and yes, the administrators who make sure grants get spent legally.
If you really want to fix things, how about pushing for a better funding model where federal and private money work together? You say you’re all about running things like a business, well, any CEO worth his salt knows you don’t blow up the whole operation to save a few bucks on maintenance.
Cut the nonsense and focus on real solutions. It’s not flashy, but it’s how grown-ups get things done.
For those who wondered how American society allowed the sins of our past, realize that tonight Trump won the majority in spite of his lack of character and integrity. He demonstrated his racism, misogyny, xenophobia and tried to overthrow the government with an insurrection with any accountability or consequence. He is celebrated for his strategy of packing the court that will ultimately give him immunity and throw out his convictions. His indictments will disappear. This says everything about our society. We absolved this behavior by electing him. A celebration of criminality.
Let the mass deportations begin. Let “stop and frisk” begin. Let the dismantling of Obamacare begin. Let the purge of the Justice Department begin. Let the privatization of Social Security begin. Let the Deregulation of industries begin and Cancer Alley of Louisiana grow. The thing I admire about Republicans they do what they say they will do.
This was never about issues. The economy is in great shape. Inflation is just coporate greed. More manufacturing, low unemployment. A healthy economy is supported by a 30% migrant labor force. It’s not about abortion. White women and affluent women know they can always access reproductive care. The GOP created a guest worker program because they want the migrant labor. This election was about the great replacement. A reaction to the society changing around them. The ultimate protection of white privilege. Let the retribution begin.
Democracy is clarity. As a student of human behavior, I believe it reflects the will of the people. The race is not over but the blame game has begun. I will not let the pundits scapegoat Black voters. I will not let you scapegoat Arab American voters. Not even the shift of Latino voters. Donald Trump was supported by White men, White women, non college educated and college educated. Suburban White women and rural White women by a majority. It’s clear that my neighbors, coworkers, and friends have no problem with a convicted felon, convicted rapist, racist, and misogynist leading their government. They share his values. People show you who they are.
