Every time you tell lesbian women they have to learn to like penises in order to be trans inclusive, you’re telling them their sexuality is a choice, something they have been fighting against for decades. Shame on you.
A group of newly elected Labour MPs came together last week to show our support for trans rights – and I'm really pleased to support the recently set-up @Labour_Trans campaign.
Solidarity! 🌈🌹
If trans women are women, and trans women were always women, then what did they transition from?
If trans women’s bodies are women’s bodies, and trans women’s brains are so-called ‘women’s brains’, then what makes someone transgender?
@tomgabion @helenstaniland @SPennman @OwenJones84 Tom, you do not get to decide which risks women should or should not accept. You do not get to tell women we have to accept even more risk in our lives, because it does not affect you in any way. Your comments are disgusting and snow a complete lack of care for women’s safety.
@ChristineF0wler I’m English and think she’s brilliant. She was the most straight talking politician during the recent election and seems to be a wonderful role model for girls and women who want to get into politics. People really do hate opinionated and successful women, don’t they...
Possibly the worst take of the day? Very similar energy to ‘you’re too ugly to be raped’, which I’ve seen said to women a million times before. Saying that someone isn’t ‘special’ enough to be ‘exploited’ is grim to say the least.
@OwenJones84 Owen, you and the Labour Party would do well to listen to these women’s concerns. There are clear conflicts between trans right and women’s rights, and we need to find a way to keep everyone happy and safe. Labour can’t afford any more losses.
@BowersBodhi@Obsolesence Dude, your misogyny is showing. Dismissing a woman’s concerns about her legal rights and safety as a ‘drama queen’ is a terrible look. Whether you agree with her or not, calling her a drama queen is a bad take.
@S_C_Perera @moximoll Shay, I’ve spoken to so many women of colour on here with the exact same opinions. They’re also very fed up with people suggesting that they don’t exist and that only white women can have certain opinions.
@PuhnkssWatson Patrick, educate yourself. Women had to campaign for decades for the right to public toilets. Men actively sabotaged their efforts as it would allow women to leave their homes for more than an hour or two at a time. It took a decades of campaigning to get women’s toilets.

Meanwhile:
Man convicted of rape, paedophilia, GBH and sexual assault moved to women’s prison, where he sexually assaulted two female inmates.
Wake up.

I am tired of women’s concerns about the removal of single sex spaces being suppressed.
I am tired of being told that questioning Self-ID legislation is transphobic.
I am tired of being told that we cannot discuss our rights.
I am tired of labour betraying women.

Trans and non-binary Labour members have come together to launch the Labour Campaign for Trans Rights; we are fighting for trans rights and liberation through the Labour Party. We urge all trans Labour members and allies to sign our pledges here:

@AngelaRayner FYI, @Womans_Place_UK was one of the things that got me more engaged in feminism and the women’s rights movement. They share wonderful stories about women’s achievements, both past and present that highlight what women are capable of achieving. You’d do well to read some of it.
