Chapter 22: I drift into Thailand, hitch north to Surat Thani, and ferry out to the the whoring hellscape known as Ko Samui. One night there is enough to send me to the next island up, Phangan.

Chapter 18 of my bonkers travel memoir 'Eleven Year Vacation' is live. Entitled A Melee of Malay Malaise, it sees me enter Malaysia in '89, cruise the wild eastern jungles to Mersing, out to Tioman Isle. I tangle with fish and people most interestingly. https://t.co/84PFA7vbTB
@CycleToronto The traffic jams on Bloor as a result of the new bike lanes are nuts. I'm for bike lanes where they make sense. But what about older folks here who need to shop, see their docs, etc., and can't ride bikes? Delivery trucks dropping product at shops? Emergency vehicles?
@CycleToronto I'm a cyclist in Etobicoke and I agree with Doug Ford (for the first time). There are far too few cyclists out here to use them, and I find the existing ones dangerous as hell between all the meth-heads on ebikes, food guys on phones and pedestrians randomly wandering into them.
I get stranded on a desert island with two Dutch girls. This is a good one. Share it with your traveler pals, esp if they were doing it in the 80s-90s era.

Yes, I know - Why start posting at Chapter 14 of your book? Because I can, I guess.
If you prefer order, start with the prelude, here: https://t.co/5zIbBol5vQ
@GilbertLiz Could Ms Gilbert or some Ukrainians please explain to the baffled among us how a novel about resistors of the evil Soviet regime in the last century hurts the Ukrainian cause or its people's feelings in context of Russia's current attack? I don't see the connection. At all.
@ZelenskyyUa@BorisJohnson Western Nations: Put a $5 billion bounty on Putin. Must be delivered alive to The Hague to face justice. That'll tweak the loyalties of his fart-suckers.
@fordnation Hey Doug, just wondering why the Ontario Gov't would permit logging in Algonquin Provincial Park? Isn't the designation "Provincial Park" intended to, um, preserve such places from activities like logging, mining, etc? Asking for 13.6 million people.
Honda asked if I'd like to review their new CB650R for half a month. I said, "Why yes, I'll make vroom for it..."
