These attempts to be clever never hold up to reality.

Gun laws almost never target actual behavior. Instead, they target everyone, regardless of their actions, history, or innocence, in the hope of preventing a fraction of criminal acts.

And even then, they almost universally fail to stop the criminals they're supposedly aimed at.
