This was a great time! So cool geeking out with the drummer on one of my favorite albums. Joey shared a lot about the making of the album and I’ll probably never listen to it the same way again.
On this week's episode of the Album Anniversary Podcast we celebrate a special album with a special guest (two actually).
@Fepeste and I are joined by Joey Esquibel who played drums on the landmark album "Leave Here A Stranger" by Starflyer 59!

Fepeste is 100% approved. "Never got good, never learned right Never not squandering all my time You’re up to your ears, drowning in sound You really don’t need this from me right now" : https://t.co/bA7QcxCDs5
I know there’s an answer, but God only knows when I’ll get to talk about such a historic album again. Patiently, I’m waiting for the day. But until then, don’t talk, put this podcast in your ears.
Yesterday on the Album Anniversary Podcast we tackled a monster of pop music, Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys is celebrating a 60 year anniversary this year.
@ajsimmons1987 and @Fepeste joined the show to help me break down this classic album.
This was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed learning from @velvetbluemusic's recording artist @Fepeste about this record while I just said chaotic things like calling The Beach Boys the "reverse Clash".
In the Before Times, you mostly listened to the records you had. As a result, you got to know the songs deeply. Streaming ended this practice but imposing it on yourself will pay dividends. Pick a handful of albums and listen to only them for a couple weeks. See what happens. Form opinions. Do you still like them?
@stephenvstrex Maybe a bit controversial, but this is my least favorite Copeland album. It’s still so great (it is Copeland after all) but I think they did so much better. Incredible band. My introduction was BMT btw.
