I have a lot of conversations around goals and success. There are a lot of productivity, habit, motivational, biographies, interviews, podcasts etc focused on success and “goal crushing” when I get a chance to take a step back I’m always reminded…
This type of longevity will become more rare in the coming years as these older couples pass away. That means fewer young ppl in the future will learn the traits needed to sustain a marriage for 50+ years and build a family legacy that will outlive *them*.
And so on so forth. But beyond the math, this is fundamentally a values question… “We support public schools…” “Homeschooling is important to us because…” “Our state has a new school choice program and we’d like to explore…” “Christian education is important to us…”
After the in-depth discussions, the conversation eventually goes like this “Ok, thanks for sharing, my job is to listen on what’s important to you and come up with a strategy to get (children’s name) to go to (school name) because it’s important for your family.”
