Turbo Girls gave me goosebumps with just how excited they were to see me. I honestly didn’t realise the impact I have as a role model until I met these young, ambitious and incredibly promising ladies.
Turbo Girls High School will be one of our girls’ sprint club hubs in Uasin Gishu County, where we will create a space to identify, nurture and develop the next generation of female speed stars.
The future of sprinting lies in this young generation — girls who are hungry to learn, determined to grow and eager to change their lives through sport.
My dream is to see these young athletes not only become champions on the track, but also become confident, disciplined and empowered women who inspire the generation after them.
The journey starts here. The future is fast. 🏃🏾♀️🇰🇪
We were thrilled to welcome @Ferdiomanyala, Africa’s fastest man, African 100m record holder and Commonwealth Games champion, to the ISK campus!
Ferdinand spent time with our ES Track & Field students and connected with members of our community, sharing his expertise, energy, and passion for the sport. For our young athletes, learning from one of Africa’s greatest sprinters was an unforgettable experience.
As we mark 50 years of ISK Passion, Creativity and Ambition, we are proud to create opportunities that inspire our students to dream big, discover their potential and pursue their passions.
Ferdinand is a tremendous source of pride for Kenya and the continent, and we were honored to have him at ISK inspiring the next generation of Lions through his speed, skill and story. ⚡🇰🇪🦁

I was honoured and humbled by the warm welcome I received from the students and staff of Cheburbur High School, Chelalang High School, and St. Francis of Assisi Kimoning High School, where I was hosted by the Senior Principal and KESSHA Moiben Sub-County Chairman, Jackson Kurgat.
What touched me most was the belief I saw in the students’ eyes, their curiosity, eagerness to learn, and excitement to hear from me. Their questions and enthusiasm reminded me of the incredible potential that exists within our young people when they are given the right platforms, guidance, and encouragement.
I was especially touched by the humility and determination of the students. During my visit to Chelalang High School, I had the privilege of adopting a Form 3 student who had outstanding school fees. I committed to clearing her fees until she completes high school.
Sometimes, changing a life doesn't require doing something extraordinary. It simply requires seeing someone, believing in them, and giving them an opportunity to keep moving forward.
This is what giving back means to me—creating hope, inspiring young people, and opening doors for the next generation.
Here is a recap of how it went down at Cheburbur High School.

The 5th edition of the Omanyala Tennis 10s was truly special. It was a celebration of joy, talent, sportsmanship, and, most importantly, the incredible potential of our young athletes.
Seeing these young players step onto the court, compete with passion, and enjoy every moment reminded me why we started the Omanyala Foundation.
Our vision is to bring greater professionalism into sports and create meaningful platforms where young athletes can be discovered, nurtured, mentored, and given opportunities to grow.
But our vision goes beyond hosting tournaments.
We want to build a system where grassroots events become the beginning of a journey into professional sport. In the future, we will expand into other sporting disciplines and work closely with the respective federations, coaches, and stakeholders to ensure that talented young athletes have a pathway beyond the competition — a pathway towards professional careers.
The tournament should not be the destination. It should be the beginning.
I am incredibly grateful to all our sponsors and partners who believed in this vision and helped make the 5th edition of the Omanyala Tennis 10s a success. To the parents, coaches, officials, volunteers, and everyone who played a part — thank you.
Tomorrow, the Omanyala Tennis 10’s takes over Nairobi Club!
More than 200 young tennis players from Kenya, Uganda and Latvia are ready to take to the court, compete, learn and have fun.
See you at Nairobi Club!

A week ago, we hit the road for the Omanyala Sprints Club Western Tour.
We set out to visit about 15 schools, meet young athletes and educators, see the facilities available to them, and most importantly, start conversations about what the future of sprinting in Kenya can look like.
For me, this journey is about more than athletics. It is about creating access, opening doors and giving young talent the opportunity to be seen, developed and supported.
I have always believed that champions are built long before they step onto the big stage.
The work starts here.

The Omanyala Sprints Club schools tour continued at Kakamega High School today. 🏃🏾♂️🇰🇪
Another day of inspiring young people to believe in themselves, work hard and pursue their dreams.
@Ferdiomanyala
A lot has happened these past few days around @Ferdiomanyala that has tickled further my passion for sports. He has visited 16 schools across Western Region opening Omanyala Sprint Clubs in High schools. Yesterday, I saw a huge banner in town, and dancers ferried him all the way to where his dreams began; Friends’ Schools Kamusinga.
Schools literally shut down, some thinking a politician locked out of the Lamu refiniery launch was touring the area. Some held a full sports day to watch sprinters compete. He has made young men believe, hey, maybe I could be the next Omwami! Not only boys even girls. An athlete is doing this! Toured three counties, giving young people opportunities he never had.
Last year, he was instrumental in the MOU between Team Kenya and Team Jamaica. Soon the coaches will visit Kenya and these are the projects they’d want to see.
I get often asked, where do our athletes go? What happened to so and so? But the truth is, as an athlete what role did you play to cement yourself beyond the finish line? I’m proud of Omanyala is he has mastered sports branding & identity.
Quite what @TergatP and @HKayangeOGW mastered years ago. Look at where they stand today.
Athletes, the truth is you will retire someday. The articles will stop. The hype will go down. Faster ones are not yet born. Sports is no longer ONLY measured by the number of medals you have otherwise, Omanyala who is not an Olympic Champion wouldn’t be bringing schools to a shut down than most of our Olympians.
We need to tell our athletes the truth, we’re in a different era. Performance matters equally as much as your story.
Because your story is what remains when you leave the stage.
Look at Michael Jordan. Look at what he has built beyond basketball.
Yes we are Africans, but that is exactly why we should tell our stories, build our brands and inspire the world.
As I write this, my boss, @EliudKipchoge has just been announced as ambassador to @jojdakar2026 Eliud understood his evolution too; “Perhaps I am no longer running for medals, now I run for a purpose. 7 Marathons, 7 continents.”
Omanyala is inspiring the next generation of sprinters. But he is also building something bigger than the sprint.
On Saturday, he has Omanyala 10’s, a grass-root mini- tennis tournament. A development for junior athletes, but beyond the court, I think I see where he’s going, you know, like how Lebron now does golf?😉.
Sprinting is a short career. But look at how much impact one athlete can make beyond the track.
A good dancer knows when to leave the stage. A great one knows what to leave behind.
That is legacy.
Legacy is an art, I have seen very few athletes master, but hey, this post is also for non-athletes. Maybe just my reflections.
A beautiful day at St Joseph’s Boys National School, Kitale, as we launched the Sprints Club.
Our Patron @Ferdiomanyala also inspired the students to work hard, stay disciplined and believe in themselves.
Special thanks to Principal Stephen Simiyu Nabungolo for the welcome.
The countdown is getting real! ⏳

Kenyan sprint star Ferdinand Omanyala is taking his passion for athletics beyond the track, bringing his sprint development campaign directly to schools across the country through the Omanyala Foundation
The Omanyala Sprints Club tour continued at St Peter’s Mumias, where Omanyala inspired students to believe in themselves, work hard and pursue their dreams.
We also held conversations on introducing a Sprints Club to help identify and nurture young talent.
