Remarkable press conference from @carras16. It might be the best given by any manager in the post-Sir Alex era.
He looked hurt, he may not have long left in the job but that will be one that’s etched in United history. A reminder of what we’re supposed to be and stand for.
It doesn’t matter who is linked with becoming Manchester United manager, because whatever the name (and most of those in circulation have previously already been ruled out), they are set up to fail.
The parasitic Glazer ownership has bled and broken the club, putting a financial noose around it.
In 2024, Sir Jim Ratcliffe talked a big game about a “three-year plan” to rival and outdo Manchester City and Liverpool. But the decision-making under INEOS’ charge of football operations has not just been woeful, but costly too. There is zero accountability for expensive mistake after expensive mistake.
There is still no clear direction on club identity, including style of play, which leads to profiling the right signings and manager. That was a major promise made by Ratcliffe, which hasn’t been kept.
To borrow his own words: “There have been a whole series of coaches, some of which were very good. And none of them were successful, or survived for very long.
The only conclusion you can draw is that the environment in which they were working didn’t work.”
It still doesn’t. It never will as long as the people who own and run the club betray Manchester United and what is required to be successful in the modern era.
You can harp on about structure, vision, and sell fanciful projects, but you will never have the right operation with the wrong people.
Darren Fletcher as interim after the international break to give us some time to decide if we want Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke or Steve Bruce to give it a go next.
Really important we get someone who knows the club. DNA and all that good stuff.
🚨🗣️ Bruno Fernandes calling out Carrick & the backroom staff: "It's a decision from the staff to not press man to man and sometimes leave space behind and try to get the ball, wait for them, but sometimes when you give space to these teams they get confidence."
🗣️ Bruno on whether he is saying Michael Carrick got his tactics wrong: "That's on the manager and staff to see, not me. Sometimes you have to be more brave under pressure, take the risk of pressing high and making them uncomfortable. As you saw with them [Como], the centre-back was coming to mark me in my own half. We need to do that as a team but we were unable to."
🗣️ Bruno: "A team that plays through the middle with small connections, if you give them too much time and space then they can hurt you out wide."
Cesc Fabregas Como have made us look like a team who had won a RAFFLE to be in the Champions league.
At times it looked as though Como had 12 players on the pitch.
We were TOOTHLESS in attack
NO running power in the team
An INABILITY to press Como
NO patterns in possession
A lot of credit has to go to Cesc and the way he has built this team & then you see the way he has got his ideas into this team.
Everyone knows their jobs and are dialled in in and out of possession.
They play to teammates under pressure - a great example of trust in one another.
But that is no excuse for us, we were poor on the night and look a team on zero confidence right now - so much to do to turn this around....and I haven't even got onto the injuries! 🤬
The difference in budgets certainly wasn’t reflected in the difference between the two teams on the pitch!
Nico Paz - lovely footballer btw.

Carrick Out, Berrads Out, Wilcox Out, Ineos Out & The Glazers Out that's the only way we are coming back as a football club because all of them are a fucking disgrace. #MUFC#COMMUN#ChampionsLeague
Manchester United deserved this beating.
The warning signs have been there since the Hull game. Poor work rate, dreadful team shape and a lack of intensity have gone unaddressed for weeks.
Jason Wilcox needed to intervene and didn't. Michael Carrick must now be relieved of his duties. But let's not pretend another managerial change fixes everything. The entire football club is broken.
Perhaps this defeat will finally convince supporters that real change requires more than complaints. Stop financially supporting the Glazers. Boycott. Demand accountability.

In a second half where Manchester United have had 0.25 xG, 1 shot on target & 0 big chances, it shouldn't take until the 84th minute to bring on Matheus Cunha & have Marcus Rashford, Shea Lacey & Joshua Zirkzee all not involved while players out there are struggling or exhausted.
His subs are never positive. They’re always like for like…seems quite content with a 1 all draw. This team will go nowhere. He will go on about how the team showed ‘great spirit’ because they run a bit…
