Truly heartbroken to post this on behalf of the Keegan family...

It is with immense sadness that we announce that Kevin Keegan has passed away at the age of 75. The former England player and manager had been battling cancer and was surrounded by his wife and daughters in his final moments. Kevin, a double Ballon D’or winner, was a much loved husband, father and grandfather. The family would like to thank Kevin’s incredible medical team for all their support. This is a hugely difficult time and they are requesting space and privacy.

I must confess to being a bit emotional this morning at the news of a knighthood for Kevin Sinfield.

I’ve always called him ‘Sir Kev’ and it’s hard to think of a man more deserving. He showed us all what it is to be a friend. What it means to step up when people need you and he did it all for his mate ❤️

After he carried Rob across the line in the Leeds marathon someone sent me this poem anonymously and I kept it on my phone. They called it ‘Arise Sir Kev’…

When shadows gathered, and hearts would break
Kev knew it was time to take…
One step, another, through wind and rain,
Carrying hope, despite the pain.

He never stopped, mile after mile,
Driven by loyalty, strength… a smile.
For Rob, his friend, he aim was true
Showing us all, what friendship can do.

Not measured in trophies, applause, or fame…
But turning up, again and again.
And in every mile he chose to run,
He showed us how friendship is truly done.

😥This is 9-year-old Viktor, who plays for South Coast Ballers FC Ultras U10s, alongside his dad, Kamil. Last weekend, they travelled together to a football tournament. While there, Viktor’s family suffered the most unimaginable heartbreak when his dad, Kamil, tragically passed away in the early hours of the morning.

Just hours later, carrying pain no child should ever have to feel, Viktor made the brave decision to step onto the pitch for his first match of the day. Then he did something nobody there will ever forget — he scored an incredible 20-yard free kick, earning the U10 Magic Moment Award before anyone even knew the heartbreak he was carrying inside.

What Viktor showed that day was more than bravery. It was courage, strength, resilience, and love for the dad who cheered him on every single week.

The team went the entire weekend unbeaten, playing for Viktor, for Kamil, and for each other.

Kamil was one of the funniest, kindest, and most selfless people you could ever meet — a devoted husband, an incredible dad, and the heart of our football family. He made everyone feel welcome, always had people laughing, and gave everything for his children.

The club and wider community are now raising money to support Viktor, his siblings, and their mum through the darkest time imaginable — helping with funeral costs and supporting the children’s future, something Kamil worked tirelessly every day to provide.

"McDonald's, Last night, I took my 16-year-old autistic brother, Alex, to your Mold restaurant chain in North Wales. We were greeted by a lovely young lad who's name was Aled, who said hello to my brother and explained he had met him the previous evening when one of Alex's carer's took him in for tea. The carer told us how Aled had encouraged Alex to order his own food and find the right money to hand over without rushing him. Aled remembered that my brother didn't drink out of the bottle for his fruit shoot and offered me an empty cup without me having to ask. He then came over to our table and offered to swap Alex's happy meal toy as he had given him the same one the previous evening - my brother loves collecting these toys so getting an extra, new one, was really exciting for him. Aled said goodbye to us as we left and left Alex feeling really happy and has asked if we can go back again to sit in and I believe that's because Aled was so friendly towards him! I know Alex, myself and all of his family and carer's really appreciate how he was treated and looked after - taking him anywhere can be quite a difficult task, and we usually opt for the drive through option, but Aled made it fun and easy for us both to go in and for Alex to enjoy his meal without any funny looks or comments. Aled is a credit to the Mold McDonald's team (and McDonald's as a whole) and I felt he deserved a mention and massive thank you ☺️ hope this gets back to him! Here is Alex being very excited about his happy meal toys!"
