SAVE SWAH STROKE SERVICES!!

Omagh will lose its rehabilitation stroke beds if the stroke services at SWAH are taken from us. We spent the afternoon helping the public complete consultation forms to save these vital grade A stroke services!

An audience member asks: 'Why is the worst performing stroke unit in the UK, Altnagelvin, in all six options and the best performing stroke unit in Northern Ireland, SWAH, only in two options of the consultation?'

A passionate audience member at the stroke consultation meeting in the Killyhelvin Hotel has told the panel that the only people who will benefit from the closure of the stroke unit at SWAH will be undertakers.

A member of the audience asked Professor Kelly how many stroke units in London, where much of the research used in the consultation is based on, perform better than SWAH. The answer from Professor Kelly is "None".

Over 3000 consultation documents from people in the area has been given to representatives from the Department of Health by representatives of the Fermanagh Stroke Support Group.
