Gate receipts were only 66M of total revenue (290M) in 2019. Small market? The A's (60M+) and the Royals (75M+) spend more on players (Indians at 34M). Losing money? Open the books. Until then, I'm not going to believe ownership's (worth 4.6B) message that this "had to happen"
Amazing how many people are quick to defend trading a 27 y/o perennial MVP candidate using unsupported narratives peddled by ownership. "If only we had better attendance numbers"..."His salary would handcuff the payroll"..."This is the reality of operating in a small market"
@CoachSully20 You can’t argue (as an ownership group) that “this will handcuff the payroll” and then operate with a 34M payroll. They cut salary last year without replacing it, now this. Dolan prioritizes profits over on field production, and that’s not ok
@Dougie0045@TMcCormick528 That’s the problem-we’ll always be fans. Some of my best memories are from the corner of Carnegie and Ontario. I want more of those memories. But give me a 100M payroll so believe ownership priorities are aligned with the fans. Can’t convince me trading Frankie was a good move
@TMcCormick528@Dougie0045 Traded Kluber last year (saved 17M) and used the savings to sign Cesar for 6M (great signing, he'll be missed) and Domingo for 1M. Not to mention moving Bauer before he made any real money. Dolan wants to win, but he needs to make a profit
