“Whoever said curiosity killed the cat has never met a ferret.”
Not sure who said this but it’s very much true. Ferrets are extremely curious and need a lot of attention to make sure they don’t get themselves killed.
Ferrets are not wild animals and are not native to North America. If you ever encounter a ferret in the wild it is someone’s pet and needs to be captured and returned safely/kept safe.
Ferrets can no longer live in the wild for typically more than a week.
Ferrets are domesticated from the European Polecat. It is believed their domestication started around 2,500 years ago and were mainly used to hunt rabbits and rodents.
