@mattvanswol This is basic social dynamics at work. When you vocally brand yourself as a racist incendiary asshole people become less inclined to interact with you. You are not entitled to their kindness, especially when you make it so abundantly clear you won't return the favor.
@WadiCryptoX@LeadingReport A mugger approaches you in the street and demands you give him all your money or he'll stab you. You refuse. You're saying no to peace. This makes you in the wrong somehow.

@Aaroncaterfan Ok nvm after more closely reading the original posts idk what the fuck they're on about, and am more on your side abt this. But it's still important to bear in mind that mangione is innocent until proven guilty, and we should be careful about not affirming the accusations
@Aaroncaterfan He's accused of doing that, but is innocent until proven guilty. Praising Mangione for killing the CEO help affirms the narrative the feds(/media) are trying to construct. It hurts Mangione's case.
man i hate being the only one masking in basically all indoor environments. it is so deeply lonely. the only thing that could make it worse was if the covid conscious community online was a puritan hell hyperfocused on calling randos murderers
@ritasnep I think we agree then - hitboxes aren't a good excuse. I also don't play the game I just get annoyed when people are strongly but incorrectly opinionated about why developers do things
@ritasnep I think we're arguing different points here. I know lots of people think it's a hitboxes thing. But I couldn't care less what they think. What I care about is Epic's actual reasoning. Not whether that reasoning is logically consistent w/ random people's opinions.
@chilledcatz@ritasnep Honestly idek but it's the most direct explanation we've gotten. My guess is that it wasn't necessarily that they didn't Have The budget, and more that they didn't want to allocate too much money to construct new riggings, animations, or what have you, for a single one-off skin.
@ritasnep Which, while it doesn't definitively point one way or the other, it matches a lot better with a model/rigging related explanation than anything to do with hitboxes. Plus the chicken also has a large hitbox but the legs still follow somewhat realistic proportions
@ritasnep This is just a bunch of random people saying that it was hitboxes, and half of them were complaining about how nonsensical that explanation is. The closest thing we have to a real explanation was Seth McFarlane saying epic didn't have the budget to make his actual body (1/2)
I love how my datamined advertisement profile™ is apparently detailed enough to know to include they/them pronouns in their commercial, but still thinks that I'd be the one using indeed to hire people
