We raise money and awareness in Manchester for @FreefromTorture to provide vital support for survivors of torture

This was for a @FfTMCR Challenge completed last September & will close 15/8. I'm sure the charity would be grateful for any late donations via this page. Sadly still plenty of work to do empowering survivors, rebuilding lives & campaigning for refugees.

🚨BREAKING: The Fire Brigade Union has launched a legal case on the Bibby Stockholm after calling it a "potential death trap".

We've said it before and we'll say it again: floating prisons are cruel and unsafe.

No matter where we come from we ALL deserve the right to be safe

[freedomfromtortureMCR @FfTMCR]

Hi @JeffSmithetc , we're urging you as my MP to oppose the cruel 'Illegal Migration Bill'

This bill will destroy the right to asylum, and won't stop refugees from risking their lives to seek safety.

[Freedom from Torture🧡 @FreefromTorture]

Time and time again, we have shown that regardless of this government's cruel policies, we will stand up and say REFUGEES WELCOME.

We have to keep putting our love into action.

Happy new year! Here are just some of our ideas for fundraising and awareness-raising events this year, supporting @FreefromTorture

We hope you're as excited as we are💙

[Freedom from Torture🧡 @FreefromTorture]

BREAKING: a Holocaust survivor just confronted Suella Braverman to say: your hateful language has consequences

[freedomfromtortureMCR @FfTMCR]

What's your new year's resolution? 💙

[Freedom from Torture🧡 @FreefromTorture]

As 2022 draws to a close, we remain committed as ever to defeating this government's Rwanda scheme once and for all.

Together, we can show this government that we stand with refugees and torture survivors.

So, if you're looking for a 2023 New Year's resolution, join us!

[freedomfromtortureMCR @FfTMCR]

@BudGardenCentre Thank you - will share that idea with the group!

[freedomfromtortureMCR @FfTMCR]

We're looking for some fresh inspiration for the new year 💙 This year we've had a zoom quiz, a play about experiences of torture from Journeymen Theatre, Chorlton Open Gardens and a lovely bake sale @BudGardenCentre. What would you suggest for next year?

[Freedom from Torture🧡 @FreefromTorture]

A year ago today, 32 people died in the channel whilst trying to find safety.

Ahlam works with torture survivors in our Glasgow centre, many of whom-like those who lost their lives- made traumatic journeys to find safety.

Listen to her experiences working with survivors.
