If you're into motorcycling and data, look for my "Motorcycling+Data" Brain Date Thursday afternoon.
Elements are repeated: title, date, mileage, duration, route map and imagery if it can be even loosely interpreted. If the route is part of a larger journey, then the inset is good context.
Heavy on the art and light on the data, route collages serve primarily as mnemonic devices to recall the details of a ride. Associating an image, like finding stories in clouds or stars, is effective for repeating the route from memory.
Looking to do more to integrate the data and art of road trip planning. Currently use Google Maps to draw routes and image editing, Google Slides tools to visualize.
Join us tomorrow (7/24) at noon eastern for another CLT TUG Lunch & Learn session! Our very own Derrell Pate will present on Geospatial Analytics.
