Great history PLC today with schools from across our Trust. Such a fantastic opportunity to share ideas and what is working well in history throughout our partnership. Thank you to some of our schools for sharing good practice too! #history#primaryhistory 🏰🛡️🛖 🗣️ 🗿
Week two of our spring enquiry ‘What is the history of the streets beneath our feet?’ Exploring the history of flight and our local connections. Today the children researched and wrote about the Montgolfier brothers and their invention of the hot air balloon💡💭
Today, Year 4 launched their Spring enquiry: 'Rotten or Revolutionary: Should we have resisted?'. They immersed into Roman life by dressing as Romans, making colosseums and Roman pottery. 🏛⚱@FhtHistory@FlyingHighTrust

In the afternoon, we created a class wreath by laying a paper poppy in our hands. Showing that peace is in our hands, after remembering the fallen soldiers, volunteers and animals. @GreenwoodSch@FhtHistory
🌺 A lovely performance of In Flanders Fields, from some of our year 6s this afternoon. What courage it took to stand and read aloud the poem. True Greenwood stars 🌟Thank you Badgers @GreenwoodSch@FhtHistory@MrJacks12971205
We finally, went to our paired class, to showcase our amazing work from Armistice Day 2022. Great art work Sharks and a super dramatised version of what school was like during the war. We hope you liked our pictures? @MrBrownPrimary@FhtHistory@GreenwoodSch
What a great morning, listening to and exploring our poem of 'We Remember.' Year 3 were asked to think of the vocabulary in each verse and draw what they believed the poem was describing. @FhtHistory@GreenwoodSch@MissMiles16

For Remembrance Day we created some beautiful art, which depicted both female and male soldiers. We also learnt some war time songs which we performed in our remembrance assembly!
A beautiful tribute played by Miss Meakin to all those who have been affected by war, near and far. Today, our children joined with thousands of schools as part of a virtual assembly to reflect on the sacrifices that have been made. @FhtHistory@FlyingHighTrust@PoppyLegion
