If I lose my pip, I'll have to give up work. I love my job, I want to work for as long as my disability will allow.
This is a scary time for many who claim. Pip is NOT an out of work benefit.
PIP isn't an out of work benefit. Lots of people claim pip and work, it helps with the extra cost of being disabled (which is expensive). What's more likely to happen is that people who receive the standard rate may no longer qualify and are forced out of work.
@Conservatives How about giving young people a reason to work hard, currently they have none. Give them hope that doing their best will give them stability in life.
Just catching up on #LoveIsBlind and Jimmy is the kind of man who's words absolutely don't match his actions, making poor Chelsea look crazy looks like fun for him. He led her along, lying to her every step of the way.
@NadiaWhittomeMP As someone who works in a gp practice, I'm already seeing a massive increase in patients going private. It breaks my heart that the nhs is on its knees because of lack of funding.
Please be kind to doctors receptionists, we really are trying our best.
We ask for your symptoms so we can direct you to the best person and so the gp knows in advance.
I absolutely love my job and most of the patients are just lovely.
This time of year is especially busy.
So what are we telling our teenagers, 'work hard and you'll have a great life'? Because that's simply not true anymore. My eldest has just started a degree and no matter how hard he works, he'll probably never own a house, he'll most likely be living with me till his 30s.
@SuellaBraverman Came here to see if this was really true, it seemed too far fetched even for this government. But no, it's true. Imagine believing that people would CHOOSE living in a tent over sage and secure housing. Stop blaming other people for your failings!
How the hell is anyone supposed to be able to buy a house these days?
For two it's difficult, but as a single person, even with a decent deposit, it's proving to be impossible.
@RishiSunak So basically, massive profits for contractors producing substandard and polluting houses whilst spending more taxpayers' money to tackle the consequences of that?
Absolute genius 👏 😒
Anyone else felt like the world's most shit parent this summer holidays?
Working all week and waiting for weekends to do fun things with zero money and pissing down rain. Climate change and cost of living have made it really difficult 😭
@cokeykitten@JeremyVineOn5@Marvyn_Harrison@linmeitalks@StormHuntley Why? What will hard work get young people nowadays? A house, financial stability, holidays? People can barely afford the bare minimum to survive no matter how hard they work. They'd be more inclined to work hard if it made a difference to their lives.
Do @Conservatives really think people can live like this much longer?
Brits are all about digging deep when we're all in this together, but we're not. We're not together.
There's a small few who are hoarding vast wealth while the rest starve.
Our stiff upper lip is wavering.
@ChrisClarksonMP Why aren't the energy companies investing rather than using the taxpayers money? They're making insane profits yet aren't using them for new and cleaner infrastructure. Maybe the Conservatives should be more preoccupied with that.
@MartinSLewis I think too much responsibility is put on individuals, I'm poor af so I dont buy much, never flown but also I'm not vegan and reusable is more affordable for me, plus I'm disabled so rely a lot on my car. Nothing will change in a capitalist world.
@teamsquarepeg So we spend a couple of years telling our kids to stay home when poorly (covid) to protect others, now we have to tell them illness with the same symptoms is no reason to stay home? Poor kids.
@AdsCondron So many replies saying 'get it on credit', I'm disabled so couldn't use the bike anyway, even if I had conditions that allowed me to use the bike, I'd be very lucky to get credit anywhere being a person on disability benefits.
Plus, I'd have nowhere secure to keep one.
My landlord has just increased the rent to £900, the local housing allowance is £723.
I'm disabled and unable to work, I have three kids to support, how do I manage this increase?
The stress is unbearable.
