Crazy about color, passionate about fibers, fanatical about dyeing. Owner/dyer of Fiber Optic Yarns.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas (feel free to sing along...) Opened the Cranberry to Evergreen gradient in the dye studio today!

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you are spending it surrounded by loved ones - friends and family both (and lots of yarn).

Rutabaga mash? Done
Cranberries? Done
Stuffing? Done
Squash? In progress

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

How did I get this tired?

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Burning down the (spinning) stash - more like an ember, but making progress.

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Coaxing little children to eat dinner - being made to feel guilty that I'm not providing a single chocolate dinner item. It's not working.

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Houston we have a (spinning) problem.

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Lots of little people with big smiles - we're off to see 'Wreck It Ralph'!

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Did enough damage for one day - time to turn in.

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Work week - I'm hereby closing the door on you - don't let it hit your arse on the way out.

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

So so glad this week is over. Calling it an early night and closing this week out as soon as possible.

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Gradient Affection - off the needles and all blocked out.

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Finished casting off the Color Affection Shawl - 8 FOOT wingspan - suggest it be renamed the Condor shawl.

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Opening 2 gradients in the studio at the same time doesn't sound like it should instill such social distress among the dyes and yet...

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Up and at 'em (with some help from a cuppa joe).

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

2 more hours casting off...and I still have half the shawl on the needles - it's going to take longer to cast off than it did to knit it.

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Primaries in the blackbird gradient - start playing nice or I'm gonna ax you big time. Sincerely, your Boss

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Working on new gradient formulas - too tired to think straight. I think it's time for a spot of tea.

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

dinner - check, kids' homework complete - check, baths and pjs - check...yup, the day is winding down peacefully.

[Kimber Baldwin @Fiberopticyarns]

Lunch with hubby at Korean restaurant - great way to chase away the rain clouds for a little bit!
