I'd love to push through the pain, but apparently the pain pushes back which then puts me in the horizontal position unable to move for a few days.

Fibromyalgia is waking up every morning already exhausted.
Not because you didn't sleep.
But because no matter how many hours you spend in bed, you never feel rested.
It's opening your eyes and wondering how much pain you'll be carrying today.
Will your feet cooperate?
Or will every step feel like you're walking on bruises and broken glass?
It's standing up and immediately calculating whether the pain is worth the trip across the room.
It's forgetting what you're doing in the middle of doing it.
Walking into a room and having no idea why. Stopping mid-sentence because the words disappear.
Losing your train of thought while you're still thinking it.
It's brain fog so thick it feels like your mind is moving through mud.
It's pain so overwhelming that you can't think straight.
Pain that steals your focus. Your patience.
Your ability to process even the simplest things.
It's staring at a task you used to do without thinking and wondering where to even begin.
It's being exhausted by things other people never have to think about.
Taking a shower. Making dinner. Going to the grocery store. Walking through a parking lot.
It's hearing, "But you look fine."
While your body feels like it's carrying a weight no one else can see.
It's canceling plans you were excited about. Not because you don't want to go.
But because you know the price you'll pay afterward.
It's grieving the version of yourself that could keep going without having to think about every ounce of energy.
The version of yourself that wasn't constantly hurting.
Wasn't constantly tired. Wasn't constantly forgetting.
It's feeling trapped in a body that changes the rules every day.
A body that hurts when you move. Hurts when you sit still.
And somehow still leaves you exhausted no matter what you do.
It's feeling guilty for resting.
Then learning the hard way what happens when you don't.
But fibromyalgia is also getting up anyway.
Putting your feet on the floor even when they ache.
Trying again when your mind feels foggy.
Showing up for the people you love when your body is begging you not to.
And somehow, despite the pain, the fatigue, the frustration, and the grief...
you keep choosing to move forward.
One step. One breath. One day at a time.
And that kind of strength deserves to be seen. ❤️🩹

So true, take it slow. It is easy to overdo it and be in such pain that you want to stop altogether. Just stretching a bit and/or going for a little walk a few times a week can make a big difference.
The key to exercising with #Fibromyalgia is to start slow, and know your limits. Your doctor may want you to exercise 30 minutes a day, but only you know if that's possible.
