Many of these individuals fled the Islamic Republic’s because they believe in freedom, democracy, and the values this country stands for. They are also contributing to the United States every day.

They arrived in this country legally, followed the rules, respect this country and its system of law and order and are among the most dedicated and accomplished contributors to American society. I ask that you and your department consider these factors, plus the personal and political risk many of these young people would face if sent back to the criminal regime in Iran.

America’s concerns for its national security and the threat posed by the Islamic regime to the homeland are entirely justified. Unfortunately, you do not know these Shiite criminals, and perhaps the statements of Marco Rubio—who has some understanding of their apocalyptic delusions—may help you. These are people for whom it does not matter if the population does not even have bread to eat or clothes to wear. As Velayati, the former foreign minister, proudly says: even if we have to wear loincloths, in the end we will hand over the flag to the Hidden Imam. Another one, in Tehran’s Friday prayers, in a country which you yourselves describe as one of the richest in the world relative to its population, says that people should eat dry bread if necessary in order to pave the way for the appearance of the Mahdi.

First, you must understand their delusions, and then confront them. They are willing to destroy Iran, as Fadavi, the deputy commander of the IRGC, proudly states that the IRGC does not even include the word “Iran” in its name and is only the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. During Muharram, they cut the heads of their six-month-old infants with blades and say it is virtuous. They strike chains on their shoulders to injure themselves and call it a religious reward. These are delusional people. In my opinion, before targeting power plants, you should target all their gatherings. Every night at 8 PM they gather in Tehran’s squares shouting and chanting. Even if power plants are destroyed, they will continue their shouting, because neither Iran, nor its infrastructure, nor its people matter to them. Only one thing matters: preparing the ground for the ظهور (appearance) of a being called the Mahdi.

Perhaps you have not yet realized this, but they refer to this war as something like the Crusades—not a war between countries. For them, it does not matter if not a single Iranian, or even they themselves, survive. Their culture is one of death-worship and opposition to life.

I wish someone would explain their culture to you. Or that your advisors would read the works of Ali Dashti, Massoud Ansari, Shojaeddin Shafa, Ali Mirfetros, and Ahmad Kasravi regarding their beliefs, behavior, and intellectual origins, so that they may find the right path in confronting them through appropriate military strategies.

Preserving Iran’s infrastructure—such as power plants—does not matter to the commanders of the IRGC. For them, preventing the bombing of Khomeini’s tomb matters more than protecting power stations or refineries. Use force to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and dismantle the Islamic Republic.
The people of Iran support strikes against the IRGC’s military and repressive capabilities and the removal of its corrupt and criminal officials and commanders. They would be grateful for your help in bringing down the Islamic Republic. However, attacks on power plants will only increase the suffering of ordinary people, especially when they already lack access to the internet. The regime does not care about the destruction of economic infrastructure—because neither Iran, nor its people, nor its infrastructure matter to them. They only care about staying in power. That’s all.

The people of Iran stand with the United States and Israel. Attacking power plants could reduce that support. Focus on dismantling their military strength and tools of repression instead.

Iran’s civilian infrastructure belongs to the Iranian people and to the future of a free Iran. The Islamic Republic’s infrastructure is the machinery of repression and terror used to keep that future from becoming reality.

Iran must be protected. The regime must be dismantled.

I ask President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu to continue targeting the regime and its apparatus of repression, while sparing the civilian infrastructure Iranians will need to rebuild our country.

On the eve of Charshanbeh Suri, the anti-Iranian regime of the Islamic Republic is once again attempting to prevent this ancient national ritual. But this year, we will mark Charshanbeh Suri with solemn national pride in memory of the brave souls who have sacrificed their lives to reclaim Iran and our national identity.

Our message is clear: our fire, the symbol of Iran’s light and purity, will triumph over the darkness of this un-Iranian regime and cleanse the soil of our homeland from its criminal occupiers.

I call on all Iranians abroad to gather on Charshanbeh Suri in front of the regime’s embassies around the world and shout with one voice: the Iranian nation will not rest until Iran is liberated and the Islamic Republic is consigned to history.

I urge the President of the United States and the Prime Minister of Israel to closely monitor developments on this day to ensure that the Islamic Republic is not permitted to meet the brave people of Iran with violence during this national observance.

By celebrating the glorious tradition of Charshanbeh Suri, we welcome Norooz and the spring of Iranian freedom, and we show the world that the day of Iran’s liberation draws near.
