I am not sure whether this late action by @Ofcom will make any difference to UK consumers. As you say, this is too little too late: most consumers by now will have inflation-linked price increases embedded in their contracts. Too little too late. @Ofcom should have taken action 2 years ago when we brought to their attention this issue.
FIDERES has released the results of our investigation into another corporate misconduct: the unfair discrimination of millions of minority houselholds in the UK by energy companies. The practice of overtly and unfairly overcharging these minorities for over 10 years has been made possible by the installation, mostly into council properties and other social housing, of prepayment energy meters. You can read the summary of our study here: https://t.co/tNPsxfSoCz.
In the current harsh economic environment of deep inequality, Fideres remains committed more than ever to the investigation of corporate wrongdoing.
