Joyous Whimsy

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s business partners, the Alexander brothers, have been convicted on 19 counts of sex trafficking.

It’s odd how often sex offenders appear in the Trump family’s inner circle.

Barnaby Joyce is a drunk.

He shouldn’t be in parliament.

Media should not be seeking his opinion on anything.

I’d like to weigh in on NBC news' recent decision to hire Ronna McDaniel.

By giving her a platform, NBC has given legitimacy to the lies she helped the former president spread.

Now we come to the why. Why would NBC News hire someone as controversial?

Here’s the reason:

News gathering is a business, and the networks have prioritized widening their audience.

They feel the need to show their Republican bona fides by hiring conservative voices.

But that is the crux of the problem.

Which Republicans?

Trump loyalists who are election deniers and January 6 apologists?

To me, that doesn’t seem like the answer.

It’s another reason independent journalism is essential right now, essential to provide unvarnished coverage in one of the most important elections in American history and to hold the mainstream media accountable.

This Peeping “Tom” was spotted outside Jewel Cave.⁣ It was too late in the day for a tour. The ranger explained the park was closing. After some ruffled feathers and some ‘fowl’ language, the turkey left without further incident. ⁣

my favourite Halifax fun fact is that the soil here is so acidic that it dissolves the bones of the people we bury here. all the graveyards in the city are basically just dirt fields with monuments for people who have been eaten by the earth. sweet dreams, everyone.

Dear Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Lid, Aldi, Waitrose, Morrisons, and all other stores that have self checkout.

You are heading towards almost exclusively self-checkout now.

The lady checking receipts at the exit was stopping
everyone.

I didn't choose to participate in that nonsense, I had already

🛒 filled my cart
🛒 emptied my cart
🛒 scanned the items
🛒refilled my cart

and so I just skipped the exit line and left.

I heard her saying "umm - Excuse me " as I kept walking and raised the receipt above my head, leaving the store.

You can either trust me to do self-checkout, or you can put your cashiers back in place like it used to be.

I'm not interested in proving that I did your job for you.

• If you want me to be a cashier with no training then that's vour problem not mine.

• Keep employing young people and give them job opportunities.

YOU DON'T PAY ME TO SCAN MY OWN SHOPPING.

YOU DON'T GIVE ME STAFF DISCOUNT FOR WORKING FOR YOU.
