Sorry for no streams for a couple weeks. Iām leaving the country forā¦reasons. Hoping for a good trip, I look forward to hearing how things have been!
Next stream Sunday Sept 6.
@Mortdog In a few weeks 3 major wars will have been resolved, Playstation will be back to making physical disks, the GTA leaker will be behind bars and Mort will be back from his reasons, all a coincidence im sure
For ages people asked me for a tour of my office, and I had a little time today before Spider-man this afternoon, so we filmed a quick tour. Cat stole the show.
It's on the youtube if you were curious :) or link below

As most of you probably know TFT is going to PBE for Set 18, Enchanted Wilds in our new Unreal Engine build today.
Since itās gonna feel different and a bit crazier than a normal PBE cycle I wanted to jump in before it all opens up to set some expectations.
The core gameplay loop of Set 18 is all there and weāre excited for yall to get your hands on it to start cooking up comps, playing with wisps, and telling us what works and what doesnāt. But I wanna be clear that there will also be a ton of weird and pretty janky bugs/interactions that we will need to iron out over the next month such as:
ā¢Button responsiveness: spam-clicking XP and reroll won't feel smooth and seamless yet.
ā¢UI delays: trait icons or augment panels/tooltips might take a split second to load information the first time.
ā¢Rubberbanding: units might visually jump back for a moment before moving into position.
ā¢Audio/Art: some audio hiccups that play too often or lingering VFX particles that donāt clear up after fights.
and with TFT's endless combinations, thereās a ton more that we know about but also a ton that you all will help us discover in the coming days and weeks.
All of that is why weāre on PBE for a full month instead of the usual two weeks. This isn't a typical cycle for balance and normal bug bashing. Weāre gonna need time to knock out the stuff I mentioned above (and more) and also test a lot of under the hood stuff. A good example of that will be quite obvious when we turn on our Ranked queue on PBE (which I'm pretty sure we have never done) to make sure all of our ranked/matchmaking systems are ready for live launch.
We expect things to break and your bug reports are what will get us to the most successful launch day possible in a month.
Quick details for today:
ā¢Launch timing: Expect PBE to open later in the day (likely late afternoon PT) as itās a massive deployment with all the new engine assets. There will probably be delays. Just expect it.
ā¢Downtime: Expect more instability and intermittent downtime throughout the month as we push necessary fixes, fix crashes etc.Ā
ā¢Bug reporting: As you run into issues plz drop them into the r/competitiveTFT Reddit PBE megathread or the bug channels in the TFT discord. Please include the full screenshot if you have them (donāt crop and instead show all the players/full screen of game etc) or even better if you have video to include. The more information the easier it is to track down.
Thanks a ton for bearing with us through the initial days. They are gonna be messy, but helping us break things now is super valuable so we can get it crisp for live. This is a big and tbh kinda scary first step but weāre excited to have you gamers be part of this with us
As a reminder this PBE will be different. It's going to be a bumpy one, so help us out by reporting bugs!
We're working closely with r/competitiveTFT and the TFT Discord on monitoring bugs there, but you can always submit through PS too
Deeply saddening news. We lost a big part of what made TFT special today.
TFT will certainly live on, but saying it won't be the same without Mort is massively underselling it. No one did it like him...the posts, streams, insight, casting, etc etc
Truly the end of a golden era
My time at Riot and on TFT as a Game Designer has come to an end. Just under 10 years, and to be honest I thought it was going to be longer, but sometimes things change.
-------------------------------------------------
Iām so grateful for what I was able to be a small part of, and able to accomplish in the last decade. Itās been a dream career, and I have got to do so much thanks to Riot. Even trying to list it all feels insane what I managed to do in this time. And the crazy 7 years on TFT where I got to design, balance, teach, lead, and more for my job, but then also build a community, stream, cast, go to eventsā¦itās just been amazing. Ending on stuff like the Unlock system and a couple other thingsā¦Iām heading out proud.
To everyone I worked with over the years, thank you for letting me be a part of everything we accomplished. I hope I managed to teach you something or bring you joy in some way. I genuinely hope our paths cross again in the future.
To everyone who supported TFT or me over the years, you have no idea what it means to me. I cherish all the moments over the years, and theyāll keep me going. I am so blessed to have been a part of your lives and thank you for letting me bring some fun into your world.
-----------------------------------------------------
Soā¦whatās next for me? Iām trying to figure that out.
First off, since I was on sabbatical and am terrible at relaxing/not working, I have been making my own small indie game. Iām about 2 months into development and have already had folks playtesting some early builds. Iād say the game is like 20-30% done, but my goal is to release it as a full game. Itās been fun keeping my skills sharp in a different space, and I hope to share it with you all someday.
Beyond that, Iām keeping my eyes open for other opportunities. Iāve had a few conversations here and there already during my Sabbatical. Itās a brutal industry right now, so Iām taking one day at a time and figuring out whatās next for me, whether itās working on another studioās game or even my own thing.
And Iād love to find a space to do some content creation and be able to share my knowledge of game development. But that may take some time to figure out how to do it right.
-------------------------------------------------------Again, thank you for everything these last 10 years. Itās a big change and Iām nervous but hoping it all works out. Until next time, take it easy!

'Dr. STONE' artist Boichi:
"Pirated manga readers are not our opponents. They are our future audience. They are proof that demand already exists."
Boichi says many manga fans around the world still lack access to legal manga because some countries have no publishing infrastructure, translation systems, or distribution networks
"Telling manga fans in those countries, 'You should buy manga,' is meaningless if there is no actual way for them to buy it."
He argues that affordable digital manga services are key to expanding the industry globally and creating opportunities for future creators
