Nobody is arguing there are no lab or animal data, or that ivermectin can’t be used safely in short, standard-dose courses for the parasitic infections it’s actually indicated for.

But that 40-year “safety record” comes from that context — not from long-term, repeated, or high-dose use for COVID or the grab-bag of other conditions people now promote it for.

The question is: where are the randomized trials in humans showing that ivermectin, used for things other than its indicated parasitic infections, improves meaningful outcomes like symptoms, hospitalizations, or survival?

Until those exist, promoting it as a broad treatment and making it functionally available without a physician’s prescription is way ahead of the evidence.
