York Region Police Sergeant Kin Pong Wong has been arrested for breach of trust and possession with intent to traffic.

Why don't we have his mugshot for the news? Why do we continue to tolerate this double standard in policing? If the media isn't going to keep the police accountable, then we have to. #YorkRegionalPolice are overrun with crime; if they're not lying about Project South, they're hiding the identities of their corrupt, drug-dealing police officers. We need a change in law enforcement.

Canadian Privacy Watchdogs are refusing to investigate the Crime Stoppers data breach, which released more than 1.5 million Canadian tipsters' private information submitted over the past 25 years.

These data breaches could leave Crime Stoppers liable for over $300,000 in damages per informant. In February 2015, the Superior Court of Justice awarded $345,000 in damages against the Durham Regional Police Services Board for releasing a confidential informant's identity. The informant was harassed so severely that she had to move and developed PTSD due to the hardships that she endured. The law should be applied to Crime Stoppers in the same way.

We need a real investigation into Crime Stoppers and our local police for privacy leaks of victims' and informants' personal information.

Canadian police can't even protect their own tipsters. Over 1 million tipsters' personal information has been leaked, forcing Crime Stoppers to shut down for the time being.

Crime Stoppers failed to protect tipsters' identities, left personal information unredacted and improperly retained decades of sensitive records. It's a lapse of judgment so severe it's criminal, and it poses the question: Has Crime Stoppers been tipping off the police about potential criminals, or are the criminals being tipped off about potential police informants?

Here is a deep dive into the recently made public court record for Elias Mouawad, the latest #TorontoPolice officer to plead guilty as part of the Project South investigation.

Summary...

Toronto Police Constable Elias Mouawad was given a conditional discharge by Superior Court Justice Catherine Rhinelander on October 20th, 2026, for using an unlawful CPIC search on behalf of Daljit Sandhu and Brian Da Costa of the Ryan Wedding criminal network.

At sentencing, the Crown sought a four-month conditional sentence (to be served in the community) followed by twelve months of probation. Counsel for Elias Mouawad sought a conditional discharge.

Daljit Sandhu, who requested that Mr. Mouawad do the unauthorized CPIC check, was paid $114,813.19 in 2025 as an intermediate Technical Analyst for the Toronto Police Service and is one of the 27 people arrested in the Project South investigation. Mr. Sandhu also got Mr. Mouawad hired with the Toronto Police by acting as his reference. In his request to Mr. Douwad, Mr. Singh also mentioned that he knew other police officers who did similar favours for him.

Briand Da Costa is facing 16 criminal charges in relation to the Project South investigation. He is accused of obtaining the confidential information which led to the murder attempt of senior correctional officer Milosevic of the Toronto South Detention Centre.

The male who was looked up in the CPIC check by Mr. Douwad is known to the #RCMP as someone involved in the import/export of controlled substances via Pearson International Airport.

The Sentencing...

Justice Rhinelander gave Elias Mouawad a conditional discharge. As well as...

- 1 year probation with 100 hours of community service, and Elias is required to participate in any counselling programs as directed by his probation officer.

It appears the guilty plea submitted by Elias Mouawad was done to avoid further investigation and publicity into his criminal misconduct. A fact that Justice Rhinelander refused to acknowledge in her sentencing.

To quote Superior Justice Catherine Rhinelander...

"A just sentence meets the goals of deterrence, denunciation, retribution, rehabilitation, and protection of society."

In no way does this sentence meet that criteria; it sends a message to everyone involved in organized crime that their crimes won't be punished. A conditional discharge doesn't even appear permanently on your criminal record; it's deleted after three years of a conviction.

To quote Justice Rhinelander again...

"A discharge may only be granted if it is in the best interests of the accused and not contrary to the public interest. Conditional discharges should be used sparingly and in exceptional circumstances"

This discharge is not in the public's best interest. This case needs to be an example that collusion with organized crime by law enforcement will not be tolerated; it's far more than just an unauthorized CPIC check. This fact wasn't even considered by Justice Rhinelander in her sentencing.

What corruption: #TorontoPolice officer Elias Mouawad received a conditional discharge for taking part in the Ryan Wedding Drug network, with the possibility that he can keep his job pending the decision of a police tribunal.

A message needs to be sent through the courts that any police connections with organized crime won't be tolerated. This sentencing is so light that it will promote further recruitment into organized crime. If no one is being held accountable, we are giving the police free rein to continue their abuse of power and criminal misconduct towards us.

The horrors of police oversight in Manitoba.

Approximately 2% of police involved deaths in Manitoba, investigated by the Independent Investigation Unit (IIU), have resulted in an arrest since 2015. Witnesses connected to the victims have stated that the IIU has withheld key information and used deceptive investigation tactics to cover up any police wrongdoing. Families of the deceased are given no support, no information, and are forced to wait extended periods of time before they're given any closure regarding the death of their loved ones. Police oversight bodies have to be held accountable for the crimes they cover up, and information, including police officers' names, needs to be made public as part of their investigations.

Aly Van Wyck-Smart's career highlights include representing Canada in the 2021 and 2024 Paralympic Games. She sacrificed herself to protest the dismantling of a 1.2 km bike lane, which was being used to transport Torontonians without an automobile across the city.

Montreal police are now urinating on and degrading the homeless in their continued war against the racialized and vulnerable communities that they've sworn to serve and protect. The Montreal police currently have an $860 million-a-year budget with an additional $67.9 million billed for overtime in 2026. At what point in time do we start redistributing these funds and give something back to the poverty-stricken people who are being terrorized and abused?
