For adolescents and young people out of school, learning shouldn’t end when the classroom does.

Bonga creates safe spaces where young people gain knowledge, life skills, confidence and opportunities to build brighter futures.

Because education is more than reading, writing and calculating. It’s about knowledge, choices and opportunities that last a lifetime.

Kupitia #CMSG, Nalari Julius wa kikundi cha Nang’wari (Ngoswak, Longido – Arusha) alipata mkopo na kuanzisha biashara ya mahindi, maharage na mafuta ya kupikia. Katika jamii inayotegemea zaidi ufugaji, aliona fursa kwenye biashara ya nafaka na kujijengea kipato endelevu.

Katika kuimarisha uendelevu wa matokeo ya Mradi wa ELCAP, @StrommeTZ and @AmaniGirls_Org , imekabidhi mashine ya kulimia (power tiller) kwa Vikundi vinne vya Akiba na Uzalishaji, Kizigo, Upendo, Angaza na Iluma katika Kijiji cha Sasilo, Manyoni, Mkoani Singida.

Hatua hii itawezesha vikundi kuendelea kutumia mbinu za kilimo himilivu dhidi ya mabadiliko ya tabianchi na kudumisha mafanikio ya mradi hata baada ya utekelezaji wake kukamilika.

Niliposikia kuhusu kikundi cha Bonga, swali la kwanza lililokuja kichwani mwangu lilikuwa!

Je, nitaweza kuelewa vizuri lugha ya Kiswahili??

Lakini leo, baada ya mwezi mmoja na nusu tangu nijiunge, ninaweza kusoma maneno na kuandika sentensi ya Kiswahili na kuelewa mafunzo vizuri zaidi.

Katika kipindi hiki, nimegundua kuwa hakuna kitu kinachoweza kunizuia kufanikiwa zaidi ya nia yangu mwenyewe.

Ninatazamia miezi 5 zaidi ya mafunzo na kujiandaa na safari ya ujarisiamali itakayoniwezesha kutengeneza kipato changu mwenyewe. ~ Sinyati Daniel _ Longido Arusha.

Being back in class means rewriting your future, rebuilding hope, and turning what once felt like a loss into a new beginning.

Meet Swaumu, from Bagamoyo at Baquina Technical College, after dropping out of school, the BONGA Program opened doors for her to return to learning and pursue her passion for ICT.

Today, she is an ICT student who also supports and mentors younger students.

Proud, committed, and determined, Swaumu has rediscovered the dream she once thought was lost the dream of building a future through education and technology.

Tunapoingia mwezi huu wa tatu, mwezi wa kusherehekea wanawake, Stromme Foundation tunaendelea kusimama imara kuunga mkono elimu ya mtoto wa kike.

Tunaamini kuwa kumpa fursa ya elimu ni kumjengea msingi wa kuwa mwanamke bora baadaye mwenye kujiamini, mwenye uwezo, na atakayechangia kikamilifu katika maendeleo ya familia, jamii na taifa kwa ujumla.

In Chidamsulu Village, Manyoni District, change has a name: Stella Njarika.

At 61 years old, Stella is not just a mother, she is a leader, a builder, and a symbol of what happens when women are given opportunity and support.

In 2024, everything shifted when @AmaniGirls_Org introduced the CMSG program in Chidamsulu and provided training on savings, loans, and entrepreneurship.

Today, she has repaid her loan, started building her own house, and most importantly, inspired other women to believe in financial independence.

This is the power of community savings groups.
This is the power of women supporting women.
This is the impact of grassroots partnerships.

The session aimed to reconnect with participants, track their progress, and provide continued support for their career growth. It also created space to gather valuable insights and lived experiences that will inform program improvement and strengthen future interventions.

Meet Magreth Phineas Mapolela (21)

Despite performing well in primary school, financial challenges and limited awareness about the importance of education forced her to pause her studies and work as a housemaid to support herself.

Her turning point came when she learned about the Bonga Program. Through the program, she has built self-confidence, strengthened her life skills, and gained practical tailoring skills that are shaping her future.

Today, Magreth aspires to continue developing her skills and establish her own tailoring business creating sustainable income and living an independent, dignified life.

Her story is a powerful reminder of what can happen when young people are given opportunity and support.

Yesterday, @StrommeTZ had the pleasure of welcoming visitors from the University of Agder, Norway. The students, who are in Tanzania for their field learning visit, had the opportunity to learn more about the work we do and the development programmes we implement across the country.

It was a meaningful moment of knowledge sharing and exchange, and we were truly impressed by their attentiveness and the thoughtful questions they asked about development work in Tanzania. We value such engagements that foster mutual learning and strengthen partnerships for sustainable development.

Stromme Foundation organized a stakeholders’ convening in Arusha, bringing together development and education stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and collective impact in the development sector.
The meeting aimed to present Stromme Foundation’s programs and strategic priorities, create a platform for stakeholders to share their ongoing interventions, and identify opportunities for meaningful partnerships.

Through dialogue and mutual learning, the convening sought to foster joint resource mobilization, promote knowledge exchange, and explore practical approaches to improving efficiency, coordination, and sustainability of development efforts.

Many young people in Tanzania and other developing countries who drop out of school are left struggling to find purpose, direction, and opportunities.

According to UNESCO, globally 272 million children and youth are out of school, particularly in low-income contexts where access to education and skills development is limited, which can leave their potential unnoticed.

Through Bonga program, Stromme Foundation supports the Government’s efforts to uplift young people within communities by providing self-awareness training and guidance in choosing vocational skills aligned with their interests.

These efforts enable young people to rebuild their confidence, acquire skills that match their aspirations, and achieve economic empowerment for more productive and dignified lives.
