Growing up, in my family everyone had their food served on their plates. We didn't eat from the same plate. It was just how we were raised. Serve yourself and take what you can finish.
When I started working after service, I went to spend the weekend with my brother and being the chef between us, he told me to cook indomie for us. When I finished, he asked me to serve it in a plate and that was the first time in over 20 years I shared a plate with my brother - an indomie moment locked forever in memory.
Do share your indomie moment that is cherished in memory.
Something happened today that instantly reminded me of an Indomie moment from my school days.
We had exams the next day, so my roommates and I went for night class to prepare. After hours of studying, we returned to the hostel tired, hungry, and completely broke, looking forward to eating whatever food we had left before getting some sleep.
Only to discover that we had been burgled.
The funny thing? The thieves ignored everything else and went straight for our foodstuffs. They cleared out the entire food corner and left our clothes, books, and other belongings untouched. Apparently, even thieves understand student priorities.
As we stood there wondering how we were going to survive the night, I suddenly remembered that I had two packs of Indomie hidden in my bag. It felt like discovering buried treasure.
We borrowed some onions from our neighbors, chopped them into the pot, and then reality hit us: how were five hungry guys supposed to share just two packs of Indomie?
We had no choice. We cooked it, added plenty of onions to make it look like plenty food, brought out our spoons, and gathered around the pot. Five grown men eating from the same pot like it was a family ceremony.
Looking back, the whole situation was hilarious. Till today, whenever I eat Indomie, I remember that night and laugh. What felt like a disaster at the time ended up becoming one of my favorite hostel memories.
@PeterObi@Eze_ndi_igbo1 No matter where anyone stands politically, a democracy is stronger when opposition voices are allowed to compete freely. The real winner should be the people, not fewer choices.
