#Romania, 1877-79, ‘Bucharest 1’ 10 bani: there were two plates. Not notes in the standard catalogues, but stamps from each plate are easily distinguishable. In Plate 2 (at right) the space between the two circular lines at top right is completely clear:

Today’s #EngravedBeauty features the beautiful tall ship, ‘La Capricieuse’, and was the first French ship to visit Canada since the acquisition of Canada by Great Britain during the Seven Years’ War (1763). The trip’s mission in 1855 was to report on trade prospects with Canada.

Today’s #EngravedBeauty features a lovely giraffe eating from palm trees on this stamp from 1901. The Nyassa Company commissioned these stamps for their territory in the Portuguese colony of Mozambique. Mostly printed for philatelists, they were rarely postally used.

Today’s #EngravedBeauty is this wonderful triangle postage due stamp from 1953 Monaco and features a tall sailing ship, one of my favorite themes. The name of the ship is not mentioned. The engravers noted at the bottom are Henri-Lucien Cheffer, and Raoul Serres.
