Looking at me, looking at you... Woodcock on Carr Naze, Filey this morning (it had shuffled round when I looked again on my return walk) and three of eight Snow Buntings - 07-01-2025

There are some great photos of the Eastern Black Redstart which has reappeared @FileyBirdObs and then there’s mine.
Having missed the bird by seconds at Scarborough and then got thoroughly wet through, how could I resist a day out at Filey in the sunshine.

Thirty seven Sanderling set against a silver sea in the bay corner @FileyBirdObs today; passing swiftly by me and disappearing into the low winter sun. Gone as quickly as they arrived.

Eastern black redstart, Filey.
Showing well at Bay Corner, Filey Brigg at noon. After a wet dip in Scarborough last week, bird kind enough to work its way towards me today. Thanks to original finder, a beauty. @nybirdnews@FileyBirdObs@teesbirds1@BirdGuides@RareBirdAlertUK
Eastern Black Redstart at Filey this morning (presumably the Scarborough bird from last week) first seen at Filey on 3rd...

Managed to get a couple of hours birding while visit family in Hull. Eastern Black Redstart showed well at Filey this morning digiscoped with kowa884 using iphone16Pro and vario adapter.
A rewarding couple of hours @FileyBirdObs earlier today in spite of the bracing NW wind & the odd icy shower.
Three confiding Snow Buntings on Carr Naze, a Red-necked Grebe, two Great Northern Divers & a single Little Auk all on the sea, bay side of The Brigg.

Latest from the Yorkshire coast an adult Brown Shrike Lanius cristatus at Hunmanby Gap on Thursday afternoon but no further sightings today. A great patch find by Keith Clarkson. Also nearby at Flamborough/Bempton Sibe Stonechat, 2 Barred Warblers, 2 Red Br Fly & 6 Yellow brows.
