Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Swiss Confederation invites you to the opening of the photography exhibition by South African artist, Catharine Cooper, Vulnerable and Forgotten People - From Kosovo and Metohija to South Africa and the Near East.
The opening will take place on 4 June 2026 at 18:00 im KUNSTHouse H3o, Hirschgraben 30, 8001 Zürich.
At the center of the exhibition is a series of photographs documenting the hardship and suffering of Serbian people during the artist’s visits to Kosovo and Metohija in 2016 and 2025. In haunting black and white, she documents the difficult lives of the Serbian population in the aftermath of the armed conflict of the late 1990s, lives marked by conflict, displacement, and resilience.
Visually resonating with photographs from other vulnerable populations across the globe, such as Palmyra, Mozambique, and South Africa, images of Serbs in Kosovo reflect everyday life that continues to unfold within a landscape marked by loss—of demographic presence, of institutional protection, of cultural continuity.
The exhibition curator and the writer of the catalogue is Dr. Ida Sinkević, Arthur J. ’55 and Barbara S. Rothkopf Professor of Art History at Lafayette College, USA.
Opening remarks will be offered by Arnauld Gouillon, Director of the Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Republic of Serbia.
Organized under the auspices of the Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Republic of Serbia, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Swiss Confederation.
Opening the Pupin Connectivity & Investment Forum 2026, Vuk Velebit emphasized that Serbia should no longer view its geographic position merely as potential, but as responsibility. At a time when global supply chains, energy flows, and strategic corridors are being reshaped, Serbia has the opportunity to become a key connector between Central Europe, the Balkans, and the Mediterranean.
Bringing together American, European, and regional leaders, the Forum addressed energy security, infrastructure, investment, and Serbia’s evolving role in a changing geopolitical and economic landscape.
Pupin Forum once again demonstrated that connectivity is more than infrastructure. It is the foundation of long-term stability, growth, and Serbia’s strategic positioning in a rapidly changing world.

The #MiddleCorridor is rapidly reshaping Europe–Asia trade, offering a new #Eurasia route that bypasses Russia and shortens transit distances. For #Serbia, this corridor represents more than logistics; it is a strategic opportunity to reposition itself as a critical connectivity hub between East and West.

Allow me to elaborate.😊
